Absolutely not.. He could accomplish as much as Kimbo Slice or butterbean

Depends on the definition of "make it". If that means make good money, yes, his celebrity could get him some nice paydays. Boxing fans would tune in to see the MMA guy get starched and MMA fans would tune in hoping to say "see how good we are, and we can kick, knee, elbow, wrestle and use BJJ". The money is there.

But he absolutely could not be a top guy. There is a huge gap between good MMA hands and good boxing hands. A chasm.

I don't think he could be a success in boxing but he is so far beyond Buttbean and Kimbo Slice they shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence.
I think if you brought the subject up to him, he would laugh in your face. He is big, bad and Mexican he is not stupid.

Don't think he has a chance in hell now, but who knows what would have happened if he had started out in boxing...

Well the thing that Cain has going for him is he's a freak athlete who picks up things VERY quickly, and his cardio is insane even by athlete standards.

That's not his sport though. He's a wrestler first and foremost.

He is the baddest man on the planet right now though. In a REAL fight, he would kill any boxer.

Cain could become a fringe contender in much the same way Deontay Wilder has.

Does the guy have power? Sure
Does he know how to throw punches? For an MMA guy yeah
Is he in good shape? Yeah

Now for the stuff he would have to worry about: chin, strategy, and technique

Lets not undermine Wilder so easily.

In a boxing match he'd KO Cain in a round. Or he could masterfully outbox him if he wanted to. Shannon Briggs would do the same to him.

Cain is a killer and great athlete. But, he's the best all around heavyweight fighter in the world. NOT the best boxer. Or close.

I would favor him to beat Kimbo in a boxing match for sure.

He has the power to beat up some bums to a impressive rec liek Seth Mitchell but no chance against the top guys.

I like wilder, I don't mind the guy, I think he's a good dangerous fighter. HOWEVER the guys he has fought ain't the greatest which is my point.

Fair enough. He has beaten some bums. And his last opponent took a dive in my opinion.

Cain being at around 30 years old plus he is a smaller heavyweight so at this point it would not look favorable for him to do any better than Seth Mitchell. I do agree he may beat Mitchell because of that chinniness of Seth but Cain's career in boxing at this point would probably look similar to Seth's. Then you have to factor in the boxing of MMA is(and has to be) taught quite different in a technical aspect so those teachings would have to be undone like a bad habit is. Cain is an exceptional physical and mental type of athlete but its too late for him to be formidable in boxing.
