    Default Only in the UK!

Eddie Hearn - You clever Bastard! not only has he managed to build up a rivalry between two very ordinary Cruiserweights, because he has signed Cleverley, he has guaranteed this fight happens! MARK MY WORDS; this fight will get so hyped, that it will be PPV!!! where else in the World would a fight between 2 guys without any current titles (not even an English or British title) who have only fought at this weight twice each get the exposure this is going to get?
and why is Hearn a clever Bastard? because after Saturday's fiasco, he can even chip their purse a little because if either of them were to stall because they weren't happy with the purse , they would be seen to be chickening out!!! he is calling all the shots here and the fighters' enthusiasm to get it on will lead to them getting mugged off!

Ah, ok, "Geezer". my point is more about how people not unlike yourself , fall for the hype and for hype read paying more for relatively mediocre quality fights, whether you actually attend events or subscribe and settle for this quite contentedly . Basically getting MUGGED OFF! PPV or not, this fight will get blown up, and not for the quality of the fight or fighters.
Here's a point to dwell on, my Pedigree Chum.... Tickets for the Brook vs Porter show , which has 3 world title fights including Bika vs Dirrell start at $25 and go up to $150.
How do you think Bellew vs Cleverley will compare , Geezer?

I dont get the point of this thread. Its a big domestic clash. Of course it will be hyped. It most likely wont be on box office unless its an undercard to Froch-Degale or another world title fight. In US you have to pay PPV for big fights every month, over here we get one or 2 a year, hardly a rip off. Ticket prices like everything depend on demand. Porter aint got a huge following and I cant see many Brits travelling for Brook hence cheap tickets. Bellew is popular in Liverpool and with a few other local fighters demand is high so he can charge more. Similar to Frampton in Belfast. High demand for tickets equals higher prices. If you feel it is a rip off dont go. I think paying 200 quid for decent seats for fights I want to see is good value

Each to their own. My point is that you can see 3 world title fights for peanuts or a load of domestic dust ups for double or triple the price. Don't get me wrong, if it ain't PPV, I'll be watching it . I'm sure it'll be fun,But what happens is that because it gets hyped up so much, Joe public actually believe that one of them will be worthy of a World title shot without really earning it.
So would you rather watch Liverpool vs Man Utd for £20 or Bury vs Accrington Stanley for £50?

Free boxing on channel 5 would be good, otherwise with the subscription package you already have, never ppv.

To be fair, if the ref hadn't spoilt it, Wlad vs Povetkin. I still think Wlad would've won, but It would've been more competitive.
I mean, when Bellew and Cleverley fought the first time , was it that memorable? Sure the pre- fight will be fun, but....

I think its only you comparing it to the brook porter fight

no one else is really that arsed

If youre trying to cause a row with a brit about something for some reason then you've picked a pretty lame subject

if you want to get on a brits nerves mention calzaghes slapping and padded record or how naz was exposed as soon as he fought at the top, something like that, geezer

Froch - Groves II tickets at Wembley started at £30.
So not really too bad a deal compared to $25 for Brook - Porter hey?

Bascially you are talking rubbish. Most tickets for fights in Britain start around the £25-£30 mark.
