Personally I love the guy, what the hell, rude and crude he brought a new dimension to the fight game. Boxing and its history wouldnt be the same without him anyone says any different, I'm banning them.

The man is a immortal god, if that is not a contradiction.![]()
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
He is an amazing man.... easily the biggest character to grace the ring.
Not the best fighter ever but very close to it, been in some amazing fights and I love his fuck you hard headed attitude
My parents took me to see him When I was a kid when he was in the uk doing some promo stuff and I've seen so many of his fights due to having an older brother who's a boxing fan.
Truly a living legend and surely one of the strongest willed and most naturally gifted fighters there will ever be.
Love the guy![]()
This is an appreciation thread, so I will stop here.
He is all a man can be... his existence will echo into many generations. Doesn't get any better than this
toughest mother i ever seen fight and suck it up. amazing heart and chin.
Love him or hate Ali , I remember watching him on the TV in the 60's with my Dad, hell
never seen anything like it, the speed and skills he was mesmerising, float like a butterfly
sting like a bee, that guy made me a boxing fan.![]()
Love him or hate him, as Dia put it...... there's no arguing that Ali was huge for boxing. That's not saying he was the best ever. But he did more for the sport than any other fighter in history.
I'm sure Bill Paxtom will be in here at any moment to chime in with his agreement.
Cassius Clay
Came along at the right time, when Boxing needed some injection of life.
I appreciated his entertainment skills, despite stealing his act from 'Gorgeous George'.
I love watching Ali's classic fights. He was a great fighter. When young he dazzled and when older he adapted. Ali had a great boxing brain along with great tools. My only criticism is how he is held on a pedestal by the media when morally he wasn't all that. The media is quick to point out Tyson's flaws at any moment, but with Ali it all seems to be airbrushed.
Totally agree. As a fighter the man was amazing, as a human being he was very flawed just like the rest of us, but it's been sanitized and airbrushed. As flawed as someone like Tyson was, I don't think he ever stoop to the sad level that Ali did to Frazier as a man. You know what they say, "With friends like these, who needs enemies?"
Awesome documentary by HBO
We cant debate the facts about Ali calling Joe a uncle tom, after Joe had help Ali out
when he was down on his luck.
Ali was no saint all show men get carried away, he said some other things that hurt Joe,
you don't kick someone in the ballocks, when they have helped you out.!
But for giving Boxing a lift Ali was the man, remember we can all make mistakes but people
like Ali and others entertained us they paid with there health.
This sport is unforgiving but remember Billy Boy , you or I weren't taking them punches off
Larry, Ali was,!!!!!! it's easy passing comment Billy Boy how long would you or I been in that
ring with Larry 5 or 6 seconds before we cured out.
I have watched boxing for years Billy Boy, TV, live fights, amateur, pro, you have to admire fighters
weather they are shit bags or nice guys, but Billy Boy you no best or DO YOU.![]()
Cassius Clay
Talented Boxer and Great Entertainer.
But he far from did it by himself. He had a lot of help on the way up.
