Default My hometown well represented tonight

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the house tonight in a huge way. Monte Meza-Clay and Sammy Vazquez won thrilling fights. Tomorrow, Rod Salka keeps the West PA winning weekend going in the upset of the year.

    Quick Saddo Poll:
Best western Pa (pittsburgh) fighter of all time?

    Billy Conn
    Harry Greb
    Michael Moore
    Paul Spadafora
    Fritzie Zivic

Yeah, Greb is an all time great.
I know Zivic is considered by many to be the dirtiest of all time. Conn could've beaten joe Louis if he would've been smarter at the end. Michael Moore never really reached his full potential but made some noise, I mean he decisioned Evander Hollyfield. Spadafora dismantled pito cardona for ibf lightweight title and pretty much dismantled manfredy. He could've scored huge $$ paydays possibly vs Floyd but legal troubles ruined his prime years.

Vasquez jr has a little Spaddie in him, sharp smart hitter. I thought Dorin took him. Sammy is wise beyond 16 fights in a day of guys full of padding and press. Look forward to next out.

I agree, Vazquez is a fans fighter. That Dorin fight was brutal, I could see either way, maybe that's why it was a draw. Spaddy could've received a hometown edge on that one though, I can see that. I also have a Spadafora bias because I actually went to high school with him in Pittsburgh. When he whitewashed cardona though, that was special. A pure boxing display. Vazquez has more pop than Spaddy though. Both great names in the modern Pittsburgh boxing scene. I'm hoping Rod Salka can do the same tomorrow. I hope he surprised people with his skills, even in a loss. I think Garcia is going to be a little surprised by his quickness and movement.
