Default Al Sharpton was a FBI informant against Don King?

This was reported back in April of this year, but did any of you know about this?

The investigations were in the early 1980's. The operation was called "Crown Royal", a more than three year plus investigation in the boxing world.

Sharpton recorded King for the FBI, as well as recorded other mobsters for the FBI.

Sharpton got stuck being an informant when, in 1983, it was recorded on video setting up a coke deal with an FBI agent.

I heard about this years ago when I lived in New York. Mr Sharpton is every slimy name in the book you can think of and I always thought he started those protest marches to ease his guilt after Don King read him the riot act. I read he wore a wire and that is something that you cannot put past Mr. King.

I didn't hear that. But anything is possible. Boxing is a dirty game.

I would like to know out of interest.

Lewis accused Bruno of it and it upset Frank a lot just as it did Frazier when Ali called it him.

Uncle Tom got a bad rap- and today its turned upside down...Most claim of this bad rap comes from James Baldwin- whose writing actually seemed more acceptable to whites than the author Harriet Stowe of Uncle Tom's cabin- Tom was beatan to death for not telling the whereabouts of 2 runaway slaves-females.. could James the (gay) writing negro had his own issues of the skills of that woman writer... and the way the women were portrayed? especially given that the media took more to Baldwin than ever to Harriet.

Initially the book made Tom a man whose virtues was based on christ. But by Baldwin's critique and how those critiiques were allowed to echo- Tom was turned into the opposite of what the writer made of him, but it has been awhile since I read the book so I am going from memory... Oh and I admit a bit of bias, not against gays, but I am not a fan of James Baldwin or any African-American creating strife against another successful African-American.

& Al has no church, no followers, yet the media has a microphone in his face for everything that I think causes so many European-Americans to pull their hair out over his comments...because the owners of the media know the knee-jerk reaction he causes. But that's just IMO...

tom is often confused with Sambo, a black slave overseer. the real Uncle Tom was a revolutionary and this challenged whitefolks ability to continue oppressing blacks. When his story was turned into a book and then a movie, the writers re-worked the script making Uncle Tom's character the exact opposite
