@walrus knows a lot about this stuff. It was not a war of independence it was a terrorist insurgents who destabilised the good folk from England providing law, order and guidance to the wild savages that left for the new world.

Are you talking about the hbo series on John Adams. It was done very well and touched on many points in US getting those nasty Brits out of here.
Yes the Brits were trying to help them but the yanks didn't understand that then.
What is the documentary called?
It's the one where the colonials are hiding in the beach of Long Island and they spot the british ships approaching fast and then start bombarding the beach

Hbo has a mini series about John Adams but not a doc per say

I've watched and read a lot about the American Revolution. The only documentary in can recall hbo doing is the mini series on Adams which was fantastic. The history channel recently did a mini series but it was historical fiction and I turned it off after fifteen minutes. Although there are some great documentaries about the subject I would actually recommend hunting down some good books on the subject. One that comes to mind was called Patriots, the men who started the American Revolution. It is a very easy read but contained a lot of accurate information. It was not the most scholarly book I've read on the subject but probably the most fun.
Oddly, I've never read a book written from the Brit side of things, any of you limeys recommend one.
I'm currently reading another book about Auschwitz, I can never understand how that shit actually happened, but I'd like to get back to American history after that
I saw it on YouTube a while back and can't find it now.
It was narrated by what sounded like the guy who narrates hbo boxing 24/7 videos.
If anyone does remember it get back to me.
Found it folks! American history revolution documentary! Chuffed
The loyalists are still around and you will come back into the commonwealth.![]()
