    Default The Return of Leftfield

Most of you won't know who they are but they're back with their first album in 16 years

Leftism (their first album) was amazing and still is and was a massive part of my youth djing all over the place and is probably the best electronic/dance album ever made, below is the teaser track from the new album

If you have never been into electronic music or the rave/club scene then you won't like or get what they are all about

Cheers Smashup that's brilliant news. I have been a huge fan since day one. I have played their tracks out all over the country because being a huge dub and techno fan they brought the two together and are arguably, for me at least the most important electronic act from these shores, particularly in terms of inspiring others. I saw them headline the dance tent at V 2000 and they let everyone play through their rig - Death in Vegas, Moloko, Bentley Rhythm Ace etc. It was massive and they brought the house down. (I now work along the guy from Death in Vegas at the universities he teaches at)

He is a set from my 42nd Birthday last year when I dragged out the cans and got behind the decks again for the first time in about 10 years check it out from about 9 minutes in for "Open Up"

Can't wait for the album now

    No Problem!

I've heard Leftfield a few times live back in the day and they were amazing live

Put it this way if an Alien came down and asked me to describe Dance Music i'd stick a few pills in his mouth and tell him to go listen to Leftism

Just flicked through that mix and full of classics - Crispy Bacon still sounds fresh but then so does Energy Flash and Orbital.

Gonna book some tickets for the London gig in June.

This is the last mix i uploaded about 6 years ago as i don't play too many clubs these days more smaller parties - it's live from a club i ran in Malta and from what i can vaguely remember i played from 5.30am - 7am.

Forgot to say we used to go to all the early Skint Records/Wall Of Sound Big Beat parties years ago and regularly heard the Bentleys, Norman Cook before the Fatboy Slim days... Midfield General, Cut La Roc etc on the decks playing anything from Beats, Punk, Beatles EVERYTHING all chucked together and it just worked.
Used to go right off every week down at Heavenly Social @ Turnmills in Farrigndon and the Chemical Brothers were resident DJ's.

Infact it was and they were insane parties
