Default Marvin Hagler vs Michael Nunn (circa 1988)

Assuming Hagler didn't retire after losing to Leonard.

A young Nunn: Tall, rangy southpaw who was both quick and slick. Almost a hybrid of Winky Wright and Floyd Mayweather Jr

I think Nunn and those youthful reflexes would have shoeshined/flurried Marvelous Marvin at that time, if he hadn't stayed retired. Just a step behind all night type fight. I'm glad that didn't take place because I was thinking it could be a lopsided type bout and I did not want to see Hagler sticking around the game and picking up losses like other old fighters. Especially to a negative type style guy like a Nunn.

From the Darnell Knox fight in 87 to the Kalambay fight in 89 Nunn was anything but a slapping slick fighter. He crushed Curtis Parker in 2 and beat Roldan much easier than did Hagler. He was moving well and punching hard.
In 1988 Michael Nunn would have been tough for anybody.

yes Nunn had some top performances , and would have given many a good fighter a tough fight.

I always through that Herol Graham would outbox Hagler as he was number 1 contender at the time. If Leonard could outpoint Marvin then a slick southpaw like Bomber could easily do it.

Nunn was at his best during that period where he beat Tate for the title and smashed Kalambay in a round. Nunn would have been too young, fast and slick for the old Hagler at that time. The Hagler that fought Hearns would have shredded Nunn however.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
