Default Carl Frampton-Alejandero Gonzalez Jr -- Saturday/Texas/ITV/CBS. Fact.

Frampton's fight is in the afternoon so it goes primetime to the UK. (A special treat for that tight ponce Master)

For some reason (Haymon league) this is a non-title catchweight fight (which is funking ironic considering this - Barry McGuigan Calls For Ban on Catch-Weight Fights - Boxing News).

Don't know much about Alejandro Gonzalez Jr (25-1/15 KOs) but he's the son of the former featherweight champ. He's 22, has a couple of inches in height and a five inch reach on Frampton.

Now obviously he's been picked for Frampton to look spectacular on his American debut. But watching a bit of him on youtube he has some tasty KOs. Seeing as it's Texas, there's a strong chance Frampton will end up fighting the ref as well as Gonzalez Jr (If Laurence Cole gets the job Carl's had it).

For the superstitious - everyone knows about McGuigan's USA debut where he got cooked alive (luckily Frampton's fight is indoors). Cruz was from Texas though.

    Frampton - 1/33
    Gonzalez Jr - 14/1

    Hmmm...

    What's the catch weight?

I get the point of the fight, U.S. PBC Debut, but it is a crap fight. Let's be honest we're watching because it is Frampton fighting, and for no other reason.

Frampton/McGuigan bringing free boxing back to the public.

They should be applauded for it and if that means no Quigg fight because they do not want to do it on ITV then more fool Hearn/sky and Quigg.

    @Fenster
    I remember that fight well!
Barry had 3rd degree sunburn by round 4 and it was a proper stitch up job asking a milk skinned paddy to fight early afternoon in that heat.
Knowing the Irish they'll have had Frampton doing altitude training in The Arctic Circle just to be sure history doesn't repeat itself.

Don't know the catchweight, Boxrec have it listed as a title fight but I read that's not the case.

I heard that Sky will let you watch the Quigg fight if you send them 20 000 Embassy coupons. I know you've got a drawer full of them somewhere so this is the perfect opportunity to use them up.

I put a $100 on Gonzalez. Should be a nice pay out if Laurence Cole does his job right

You better hope he does, that's the only way you will get your dirty money back, and that's coming from a Quigg fan

What price you back it at? I probably would have given you a better price, no chance Framptons losing this

Ok, well in that case McGuigan should make Quigg and Hearn an offer, like Hearn did.
Only that won't happen cos McGuigan hasn't got the clout.
If he beats the offer Hearn put on the table, get it on!
Only that won't happen will it? McGuigan's all wind and piss.
