Default From Pretty Boy to Money, What Happened?

Remember when Floyd was known as "Pretty Boy" and was actually exciting to watch? He actually sought to fight the best back then, even calling out Mosley.

What I wanna know is, what happened between then and now, when he became "Money"? My guess is he fell in love with the money. Back when he was Pretty Boy, he wasn't the huge PPV star that he is now, and had to fight the best.

What do you want to know exactly? Compare what he made back then with what he has lately, and honestly tell me you don't understand why it's a better idea? Boxing fans are the biggest morons out there I swear.

It is a romantic idea and notion that when he was young and hungry he was willing to entertainment and take chances. Once he got the big money and away from Arum he got spoilt and made it so did not have to take chances.

Because he clearly hasn't taken any challenges since then? Nobody was calling for him to fight Canelo or Pacquiao, nobody gave either of those guys a chance to win, right?

You know with posts like these, and most mayweather critics....what fights do you think he missed? Or who did he duck?
    1. Comes back as money Mayweather to embarrass a guy who gave Manny hell.
2.. Hatton destroyed Kostya, then knocked out Castillo - "Mayweather is scared to fight a real, strong, undefeated fighter." - result:Mayweather wins by KO
    3. Mosely beats the crap out of Margarito - "Why won't Mayweather fight a real welterweight - result: Mayweather destroys Mosely
    4. Ortiz beats Berto - "Maywaether only fights guys past their primes, he should fight someone young and hungry like ortiz" - result: Mayweather, KO(and despite what you say, it was headed towards a KO or stoppage anyway)
    5. Cotto has amazing performance against margarito - "Mayweather is ducking cotto" - Mayweather fighta him at 154 -result: "beats him in an exciting fight.
    6. Robert Guerrero - beats Berto - not much else, probably post jail warm up.
    7. Saul Alvaraz, young, hungry, undefeated champ "the only real threat to Mayweather, floyd will never fight him" - result: Brilliant performance by Maywaether, one of the most one sided fights of his career.
    8. Maidana is Maidana
    9. Manny Pacqiou - I don't have to remind anyone what happened here. Beat the best fighter other than him. Fight would've looked the same at any point in their careers.

This is all his fights past the Money nickname. Seems pretty damn impressive to me. I would love to hear, what else do you hope he would have done? Truth is, until he became a star, these guy were ducking him. At this point people are picking at him for no reason. Sure his style has become less aggressive, but that's because he is older and fighting much bigger guys, he walks around at 148-150, these guys are damn near light heavyweights in their daily lives. What else do you want from the man!?!?!

I honestly just feel bad for Floyd, he can never get a break. Even with the Berto fight. I don't see any other guy being picked that's that much better than Berto. Khan? Please don't kid me, he looked like crap against Algerie and has lost to guys Mayweather would mop the floor with. Thurman? Personally, i saw the Callazo fight, how about you? There is no one left! Only thing that makes sense is a rematch with winner of canelo - cotto, although id prefer Floyd retire.

Beating Canelo at light middle was an amazing achievement even if he did make him fight at a catch weight. Floyd did it also for the big ppv sales.

Beating Manny was for the ppv sales, Pac Man was flattened face first against JMM. Any chance of Manny winning was gone after that brutal KO.

Well this is prize fighting. Of course you're going to go for the big money fights.

I don't know why the JMM fight killed any chance Pac had to win, it's not like he changed much since then.

Those who knew why Canelo "was where he was".... also knew Floyd would embarrass Canelo.
More was expected of Pac.... but he failed to deliver.
None of this is Floyd's fault, but rather fans who develop unrealistic expectations.

Manny was not taking chances as he would have if he had not been knocked out. He was gun shy.

Didn't seem to slow him down against Bradley and Algeiri...

Either way, people wanted the Mayweather/Pac fight, they said Floyd was ducking him even after he got starched by JMM, so Floyd made the fight and dominated. What else can he do?

I dislike Floyd but it's hard to knock his accomplishments he beat Pac ( even if it was past its due date still a great achievement) beat Canelo and he beat Cotto. Yes people can say he can go for more greatness and fight Golovkin or Cotto for the middleweight belt but he's paid his dues let him have his easy fight weather it's his last one or not who cares. You don't have to watch it.

Your a bit hard on Floyd master every time Floyd steps into the ring he's taking a chance might be a slim chance but it's still there and he's usually the smaller guy with lesser punching power.

I am hard on him but he is grossly overpaid for what he produces/entertains. He may be smaller but his safety first and negative style with his arrogant behviour makes me despise him with a passion.

Lol I do get what your saying but there's also a lot of people out there who enjoy watching his style myself included. As for being over payed he probably is but he's also putting his life on the line every fight and I say good on him for getting payed what he does. I would love to be over payed for my job
