You're being a bit foolish on this one. Putin isn't even hitting ISIS, he is bombing opponents of the Assad regime. Haven't you noticed? They are not the same ax ISIS.

They are not ISIS fighters. The reason the West is annoyed is precisely that. We think he is bombing the wrong people.

Now one of his passenger jets has been brought down, he is finding middle eastern wars can be as complicated as we find them.

You do like to wade into a position, usually a very opiniated one but not backed by much analysis. I haven't yet worked out whether you do it to get a rise out if people, whether you are just wankered all the time, or whether you just like to post random rants.

Putin has hit quite a few ISIS targets. From which source have you heard he is not? He appears actually to be bombing BOTH ISIS and "freedom fighters" against Assad. Putin of course knows there is some terrorist backlash like with that passenger plane.

I agree Russia has focused most of its involvement in Syria on hitting rebel targets to shore up territory for the regime. but now that Russia has apparently been provoked by ISIS it might be forced to hit back. wouldnt you say? And why would ISIS attack Russia if Russia has not bombed them? If Russia is bombing the "rebels", ISIS would be happy, right?

Oh God, now we have to listen and believe Putin as his opposition mysteriously drops dead all over Russia. He doesn't give a Shit about Isis unless they influence the Muslim population in Chechnya. The guy locks up the oligarchs to take their money. He's amassed hundreds of millions in his personal accounts. He holds countries hostage over oil. He will maintain control in Russia until he's dead. He wants to sell arms to Iran and Hezbollah and Syria and China. He certainly views us as a threat. US politicians lie but Putin can't tell the truth. He's about as honest as lance Armstrong and Floyd doping together.

All I hear from US posters is US propaganda. Putin has been going to work, the results are telling. China and Russia together look at the US as a weakling. Economically, intellectually, and militarily, they seem to know why. Gold has value, but if you don't have it. Telling.

Putin is doing exactly what the West wants, but of course they are not going to admit it publicly.

Russia is attacking ISIS and as mentioned, everyone who is an enemy of Assad.

The West do not want to take away the secular structure in Syria. It maybe too late, but Russia too has that goal, and that may mean keeping Assad in power. If secularism stayed in place, Russia would not care who is in power, they have just calculated that Assad is the most realistic way to that goal.

Assad was always supported by Russia, and fair enough say I.

All I am saying is that Putin tells it pretty straight and that Russia and China have a fundamentally solid financial game. China has gone a bit mad economically but they keep buying gold which is sound. When was the last time Cameron said something truthful or even balanced the books? It has never happened. WMD Mr Blair. It would be comedic if if wasn't so downright crazy and irresponsible.
