Default Why, continue to rate Lacy so high?

I guess that we all saw that Lacy was like 280 divisions like below Calzaghe and the other top SMWs - why are people stil thinking that he has a chance against the likes of Kessler?

Kessler would stop him within 3-4 rounds if he had the chance

Come on, Lacy is still young and he can now use a couple of fights to work on his fundamentals. If Birmingham improves his defense and helps Lacy DEVELOP A FUCKING JAB then Lacy can turn it around. Lacy has to know that following someone around the ring without doing anything a la Corrales -Mayweather & Trinidad - Hopkins hoping to land a big shot won't work against the top class in the division. He has to change his style a bit if he wants to be successful against great competition. Lacy is still Top 5 in the division though. You people are hugging JoeCals nuts so hard, it must be hard for him to breath.

I have found, you have to be careful, because if you try and swallow he is very chewy

Heh heh heh. As always...I get beatin to the punch & outclassed on the homo-erotic jokes that are abound at every corner of this site by Britkid! Bravo my very skilled opponent...bravo. This round to you.

Seriously though...you can't write a man off after one loss...he got in with Calzaghe & Joe showed up more motivated than ever as he was figthing before the world & made a statement!

And to think it only took Joe 10 years...

As for Lacy I think he is still #2 to Calzaghe, but you have to put Kessler in front of him because he has the '0' and no humilation... but I suspect Kessler might even struggle with Beyer, let alone Lacy or Calzaghe.

I think Lacy could still be the best fight in the SMW once Calzaghe moves up... He was too focused on one punch at a time against a faster puncher which is suicide if the other guy is capable of hurting you... However I say that Lacy could perhaps beat Kessler who hasn't really foughten anyone himself.

I agree that Lacy is still rankable...but not over Kess...& yes...it's got to be due to the loss...but I think that Kess is going to surprise a lot more people than you think.

Not that I am disagreeing just to disagree...he's only been tested twice by a very worthy opponent...but I do not by anymeans think that he will have issues with Beyer...I've been getting as much of Beyer as I can lately...& I truly believe that Beyer will put up a good fight...but Kess will figure him out.

I could be wrong...because I have seen more of Kess than Beyer.

Again...I like Beyer...but I think that he might be past his best...even his better.

Calzaghe would probably starch Kess...easily Beyer.

I still say that all of the criticism & dropping of Lacy is wrong...he's still got what it takes...& he did just fight the best in the world...no matter what anyone says.

Kess is fighting William Joppy next.

...and IWO it will be a good fight that Kessler can learn from. Joppy thinks that he is reinvigorated from what I understand...but beating two bums (they are bums...as much as I hate to use that word...so let's say washed up fighters like himself) is not beating one of the stronger 168'ers out there.

Kessler will get a bit of a boxing lesson old school style if Joppy elects to stand & fight...which is what I am hoping for.

There's not a lot of options out there for Kess now. Maybe Lacy will step up to the plate with Kess...I'd be shocked if that ever happened.

If by some strange thing that Joppy beats him, what does that mean about Kessler?

That says that he got beat...it depends on how he get's beaten...if Joppy wins...I'd have to lean towards one of two things...he either get's caught or he just didn't get up for the fight...that's my take...because I just see no way in hell that Joppy beats Kess.

lacy has beaten many other top contenders in the division and has now lost to the best in the division....1 loss doesnt make him a bad fighter.

    i still rank lacy...

A few reasons. He is still young and can learn new things, and still has a ton of potential. Any fighter with power can be dangerous. Yes, he lost, and was humiliated, but he lost to the best in the division, and he didn't suffer a KO. If he gets his heart back in the game, and takes a year{couple of fights} to work on his fundamentals, he will still be top 5 in the division. Let's just hope he actually works towards being great, and not underachieving as a power puncher=David Tua.
