Thread: Lawsuit

I ma not a conspiracy theorist but does any one else think the timing of ASB/Canelos's lawsuit that will delay negotiations with GGG seems a bit odd? I know if you read the reasonings they make it clear why they held off to pursue but maybe I am just a paranoid old guy and this timing seems strange to me.

We are going for a ride AGAIN. Fans will choose sides AGAIN and they won't notice that they are actually driving both fighters value up AGAIN by them not fighting.

This play is disgusting and fans ignorance is what they bank on. Sadly it works. So everyone that picks sides take a look in the mirror and say to yourself "I'm a mark, I'm gullible and I deserve to be taken advantage of"

one of the reasons discussion about a Canelo Alvarez-Gennady Golovkin fight has gone cold is because Alvarez is in a Miami courtroom this week with his promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, who’s arguing that he didn’t steal Alvarez from a smaller promoter years ago.

I think if GB or Canelo brings up the Lawsuit as his reason for not taking GGG, it's total BS. Apparently they asked GGG to sign a waver so Canelo could fight someone else instead if the mandatory defense so my guess is GGG said no which is why Canelo vacated middleweight title. The Lawsuit has been going on since 2010 over Canelo's signing with ASB.

yanno when this thread was first made, I kinda held off agree because it seemed like jumping the gun. But i have to say frasd may have been on to something. Only reason i say that is that negotiations have supposedly been stalled out with GGG due to this lawsuit.. then Smith comes out and says he was offered the alvarez fight. So the lawsuit only stalled negotiations with one particular fighter? but everyone else is ok to negotiate with?
