About as good a fight as you could have expected for a voluntary from Wilder. I think Arreola is pretty much shit now though, would be surprised if he made this interesting.

    Good fight IMO.

Much better than another FNF opponent like Spilka. He was tough as hell though and doing well for a while.

Elephant seal poses a real threat I think.

Well we still don't know how well Wilder takes a punch. Arreola could land a big one on Deontay and it could be upset city.

That said it should be Wilder KO in 2-4

There was a time that Arreola was fit and could box and see a lot of the flaws in Wilders game. That time is past. Chris will still be able to see the flaws but he's too shot to take advantage of any of them. He'll get caught looking and dropped in the second.

If he does beat wilder, it says far more about wilder than it does arreola.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

I want Chris to win, he can do it all he has to do is take the wild punches from Wilder and tire him out. Rocky style.

Close! He was a very underrated boxer when he was an amateur. He debuted at heavy professionally, so as he was able to knock people out early in his career he stopped boxing. I was looking for early footage but the earliest i found was 2006. He was great but there was probably a very small window where he remembered how to box and had the fitness to make it work for him. Its kinda sad that the only thing he's remembered for now are his moobs.

Have a feeling Chris will come off his suspension and be blasted out in spectacular fashion. Man hasn't been fierce since KO'ing Seth Mitchell and has been tooth and nail with guys a world trinket challenger shouldn't be as of late. That chin is cracka la cracked!

True, it is easy to forget that Cris was a LIGHTheavyweight 178 lbs as an amateur....he was a very promising fighter and obviously his power was pretty epic at that weight as well. It is a shame he wasn't dedicated enough to stay at a healthy weight. I think a Cris Arreola that was 215-225 would have been a title holder regardless of how big his opponents were. Not only did he get heavy around the middle his hands got heavier and his feet got heavier....he's the Chicano version of David Tua IMO.

I forgot about Seth Mitchell. Nice guy and some good talent just weak chin and got in the game too late after football.

Hard to defend this decision. I like Wilder, but this is an awful fight to make as a champ.
Lateef Kayode or dare I say Briggs would've been a better choice.

Lateef Kayode? Nah, lol. Arreola used to be good enough to probably beat Wilder imo, so it is at least interesting for the chance that he could turn things back. Guy has been vulnerable forever though, and has looked terrible in his last few fights. There was no chance Wilder was going to fight anyone more dangerous for a voluntary.
