He is set to fight Archak TerMeliksetian in a card titled "The Contender Latin Warrios" where Alfonso Gomez and Miguel Espino (both from the contender) will also be on the card on May 4th.

Should be good fights for both Sergio and Alfonso. They guys they are fighting have both fought fringe contenders in the past, Sergio's opponent has fought Sechew Powell.

They havn't won any big fights but they should give us an indication as to whether Sergio and Alfonso are top 20 material or not.

Alfonso's fight is a rubber match with Jesse Feliciano, currently they are 1-1 so should be good.

Miguel is fighting a nobody so should get an easy win.

I'm suprised Alfonso is fighting at 154, to me he would be better fighting at welterweight I would have thought, he would be pretty good down there.

I hate this crap.. These contender cards that are supposed to showcase these guys. Fuck it, let's see them fight someone on an undercard at a real event.. IMO Manfredo might be good, depending where he chooses to fight.. Mora definetly isn't going to be shit at middleweight, even if he did prove to be real theres a half dozen guys who would still toy with him. I never liked the show much because the way they edit the fights.. and now to see them all fighting on the same card against handpicked bums isn't exactly captivating either.

I completely disagree. Considering the state of their respective careers these are both big matchups.

TerMeliksetian's last two fights have been big step ups in class against highly rated Sechew Powell and unbeaten Giovanni Lorenzo both top 20 fighters very much on the up.
He lasted the full 10 rounds with Powell so is obviously pretty durable and seeing as Mora had only had 11 fights coming into the Contender he is being moved along quickly.

Alfonso is also fighting a real live opponent in Jess Feliciano. This guy just beat Vince Phillips at one weeks notice in an explosive fight where both threw over 1000 punches and has a few people talking about him. Currently Gomez and Feliciano are 1-1 in previous fights so you would have to conclude that this is going to be a real test of Alfonso to see how far he has come.

Personally I'm looking forward to both fights.

Don't let the fact they were on the Contender blind you to the fact that these are two very talented young fighters who could make an impact in their divisions in the near future.
