Vasyl Lomachenko has declared that he is looking forward to beating Teofimo Lopez, so he can relish the reaction of the fighter and his father in defeat.

Ukraine’s WBA, WBO & WBC ‘franchise’ lightweight champion is looking to complete his collection by picking up Lopez’s IBF belt in a unification which was being planned to take place on May 30.

The fight will now likely be rescheduled once the coronavirus crisis has concluded.

Lomachenko said of his opponent: “I really think he’s a good boxer. He’s a top fighter.

“He’s young, he’s hungry, he has big power, and I want this fight.

“He’s a world champion, and he holds my belt. The IBF title.”

However, despite respecting Lopez’s skillset, Loma has little respect for the brash young American’s conduct.

Lopez and his father, Teofimo Sr, have been confidently calling for a fight with Lomachenko for some time now and have repeatedly predicted a knockout win.

Loma concluded by sending the pair a chilling warning: “The interesting thing for me, it will be to look into his eyes and his father’s eyes and see their reaction, after the fight.”
