I was complaining about Floyd's speed in general because it is visually slower than it use to be at 130 and 140 even, but I just saw ODLH-Mosley I, and both of those fighters looked so much slower than Floyd and Zab at welterweight I was like wow are they really are that much faster than Mosley?. Then I saw Hearns vs. Leonard I and still Zab and PBF are still way faster. After seeing those fights I wonder just how fast these two really are even in comparison to Roy Jones Jr. p4p, and why the hell does Zab get hit so much, and who would could truly compete with Floyd even at welterweight because he is light years faster than Hatton and Margarito.

But Mayweather and Zab, lack the power of Hearns, Leonard, Oscar or Mosley, so that might expain why they faster.

speed is not the whole story, a reason sugar ray does not look that fast against hearns because hearns is long has a long ass jab and straight right hand, jones tarver....... a long fighter witha good jab can nullify speed look at tarver who simply has a good jab, hearns had a great on and a pretty devastating right hand

... Roy Jones Jr. when he punched and moved in still looked fast against Tarver. I am talking about movement speed around the ring.. How fast you can get in and out.

I understand what your saying but another example would be winky mosley, mosley still looked fast but could not get inside much like jones tarver, I know roy was past his best but in reality if roy had faced a fighter like hearns he d have problems you just cant pull the trigger as much, you begin to look lik your pitty patting,

I think Zab hits alot harder than Leonard and just as hard as Oscar or maybe even Mosley at Welterweight... he just can't take shots like them. Mayweather hits alot harder than people give him credit for, but if you look at the fights the speed difference is astonishing IMO.

Mosley did get in on Winky though ... many times especially in the second fight. I understand against a tall good jabber its hard to get in, but Roy Jones Jr. given enough time would have killed Hearns once he found the distance. His fights with Tarver look at the first round of the second fight he was getting in whenever he wanted, and in any of the fights when he went in he hit. A good jab can only hold a extraordinary counterpuncher at pay for so long.

Zab does not compare to a prime sugar ray, sugar had great skills and for all his pretty boy image was a tough sob when you forced him to be

I'm not saying Zab is Sugar Ray.... He's just a hell of a lot faster and hits harder, and he is probably the most skilled person Mayweather has fought to date and i didn't believe it before the fight, but he really is... More skilled than Castillo or Corrales, Gatti, Chavez, Hernando, Burton, Corley, and the list goes on and on of the good fighters Mayweather fought. Leonard IMO wasn't as good of a counter puncher as he should have been.

Gotta disagree about zab being faster, zab doesnt look all that fast to me, keep in mind he is a southpaw if you switched him up he might not look too fast against floyd or anyone else, he has good speed for a southpaw is what he has, its unfamilarity with soutpaw thats quick, zab is a quick southpaw mayweather is a fast handed fighter, their is a diiference, pernell whitaker was quick, floyd is fast

... lol Zab is extraordinarily fast... faster than Leonard, and most fighters I've seen... he isn't just quick.

Could mayweahters lack off speed on the night be something to do with the gloves?, I know they're same weight but still.

Meldrick Taylor was faster then SRL, RJJ, PBF & ZAB

No way Taeth - Jones would have spent a career avoiding Hearns !!!! If they did fight, Tommy would npt have given him time to find his range, he would have wrecked him within 3.

I think when PBF's career is over he will be recognized as one of the top3 fighters of all time...I'm not a PBF fan but one cannot deny how great he is.
