Pipe dream.
Canelo will leap at it, though.
i think he beats canelo.
We don’t know Charlo can’t do it yet?
It’s a big ask to go up that far , but as time goes on , I don’t think it is as big a deal. Canelo is definitely on the slide, not massively, but it’s only natural.
Now if you said “Crawford v Benavidez?” I would say no chance!
Not because Benavidez “beats Canelo”. But because Benavidez is a champion and a proper SMW in his peak, whereas Canelo is not.

No offense, this is silly shat. Here’s a wild idea. Charlo stayed put with his undisputed four belt having self and up comes Bud with his undisputed self and they go into their very own super-fight. All these fights feel like to me specifically Bud and Canelo chatter are a fund drive for their grand retirement tour. All this “well he’s naturally bigger anyway” is a free pass and excuses to manufacture cash grab matches and ignoring huge division matches that are there for the making. Up until his last fight and I have mad respect for the man but we had no idea if Bud was even “p4p” in his own division let alone 21lbs to serve in the grand Canelo court. Hopkins used to get shredded for “beating up blown up welterweights! And wasn’t it Spence who was the “naturally bigger” and Bud was a lightweight/jr welter who came up. And yes I slagged on Spence when he fight Mikey too
. It feels like this undisputed trend serves but to simply have a guy abandon his division now rather than ohhh I dunno, defend! The truth is there’s very much some dispute remaining and big fights to be made right off where they are. There’s an investment to make in so many other good solid rising stars, top earned contenders and a void is being created when elites of 34,35 are soon to exit. Ok too much coffee today I’ll admit. Rant over

High school senior builds an undefeated record by fighting 7th graders and nursing home residents.
Then... he decides to increase his legacy by fighting undefeated 5th graders.
Meanwhile he's just a cherry-picking punk to his fellow high school seniors... but is popular with the teenybopper crowd.
I'm sure Hollywood would buy this story.
canelo shouldn't waste his time with terence

And just to clarify, I don’t hate this fight at this stage of Canelo’s career. I always thought Charlo was a big LMW , and Canelo isn’t a stereotypical SMW at 5 foot 7 inches.
The reasons he can’t make MW can be debated on another day. We’ve all got our opinions on that. Because let’s be honest MW Would be a much more sensible weight for him to fight at with his structure.

no one was talking about you & what you once weighed. you were never a champion in the same division as canelo at the same time. what is ridiculous about that statement? were canelo & jermell not champions in the same division at the same stage? it was not a million years ago. that is a ridiculous statement. & terence was not only a weight below at that time, he was still at one forty. terence would be a waste of time for canelo. terence would be jumping up three weight divisions. it would be a lose lose fight for canelo, if he won, he'd get not credit & should he lose he'd be ridiculed. i'm not taking anything away from terence, there's just nothing in that fight for canelo

I agree. Could possibly cut him up like a surgeon, by the time it happens if Bud can get used to the drag of the extra muscle. Heights the same and Crawfords got like a 3+ inch reach advantage on Canelo. Canelos legs are already stiff. Charlo's not the same kind of fighter as crawford and he'll get trapped. He can try to use his size and follow the Bivol model but Charlos style is to come to his opponents and pick at them from the outside if they're sluggers and to bully the stylists. I think Charlo might be able to pile up points and walk away with the points victory if he can resist the urge to stay in range too long trying to get his work done. I don't think he can do it and he'll get greedy and then get taken. Charlo could do it with a guy like Castano because Castano wasn't a smart fighter. (quite the overachiever in the first fight, but he doesn't set traps and doesn't have more than one gear) Charlo could see the punches coming -- and even then, he got caught several times and Castano got jobbed on the decision. Canelo is counting on Charlo coming to him, so he can save his legs, trap Charlo and then pin Charlo down when he's hurt.
Crawford's a smart fighter and it would be a chess match, but the way things are going, Bud would be the fresher fighter even if hes older. Bud would probably still have better movement, look to sit on the edge doorstep and see if Canelo takes the bait and over extends himself and gives bud the opportunity to land and step away ...then catch Canelo stepping out like he did Spence. The most beautiful work in the Spence fight was when Spence thought he was going to bulldoze the smaller bud and instead of run like Spence thought he would, Bud stood there unwavering and just aimed... Canelos reflexes would have probably slowed down just a few extra milliseconds, and towards the end of the fight, Canelo would be losing his starch.
