Default The 1990 Holyfield could NOT have beaten the 1990 Tyson...

Absolutely could not. Would have been a great fight, however. But I don't see Holyfield going past 8 rounds with that Tyson, even the Tyson that lost to Douglas. lolol.... You can't change my mind on it either.

I don't think Holyfield could have beaten Douglas that night either. That Douglas troubles any heavyweight in history.

If Holyfield had got tyson past five rounds in 1990 the fight was in the balance.

For me tyson is the most dangerous three round fighter in heavyweight history and that would be enough to beat just about all of the others. But theres 20-25 or so good enough to get through those early rounds of prime Tyson. He'd take some on points or stop late of course but there's a dozen or so in their prime I'd pick to beat him down the stretch.

    Evander was one of those.

So you are in fact wrong

    Thanks for listening

What Mark said . But the man beat the man literally not once but twice. Regardless of date the Tyson getting dusted by Douglas would still have that sloppy punch output, the 1 maybe 2 and done load up. The same idiots in his corner using a hot water bottle and all the same distractions and very much be the same man in 1990. He was already showing wrinkles. And the things Holyfield brought closest to Douglas were the combination punching and mobility. Same attributes along with steel will, solid beard and a proven physicality to get gritty with Mike as Mike was also known to do. Pick a date change a year, Holyfield plays out exactly as it did for me.

Prime Tyson was devastating when he became champion and destroyed all challengers that tried to stand in his way. His career started to unravel when Jacobs died, King took over, lost Rooney, divorced Robin and his dedication to train which led to his loss to Buster Douglas.

Tyson was determined to win his title back and scored 2 quick one rounders and 2 very exciting fights against a dangerous Razor Ruddock.

That Mike Tyson, before he went to jail, would have beaten Holyfield. Mike still had enough about him to if not stop Evander, beat him on points.

Evander weighed just over 200lb and would have been too small for Tyson who would target the slim waist of Holyfield. It would have been an exciting contest but Mike was good enough to beat the Real Deal.

People always forget the Tyson mentality, pre-1990. That is the X factor here...

Yes it's a shame the pre 90 opposition wasn't as strong.

can't see anybody knocking out 1990 Holyfield.... Chin was too good, and he had not taken much abuse as this was before the trilogy with Bowe. I think 1990 Mike Tyson wins a decision
