Default Tim Tszyu - what’s next?

Fans tend to overly hype these types of fighters before they’ve actually done anything.

    Are casuals responsible?

This is the same guy that said he beats Crawford.

If you are in Tsyzu camp, what changes would you urgently recommend or would you say just retire now due to his weak boxing and defensive skills.

    Heart can’t win everything.

That was a shocking loss and stoppage that Tim suffered. He needs to take a long rest and decide what he really wants to do. If he wants to continue he has to rebuild slowly and improve that defence of his.

I do not think he can come back to the levels he achieved originally, as that loss will have psychological impact on him. When he gets to word class level he will be found out again.

He may never had been much to begin with? Sure, his dad was a great champion, but that doesn't mean he could be one. I always thought he was gifting himself into good fights because of his name and his dad. Now we found out he is a glorified Chavez Jr. Not shocked, at all.

this is why many fighters & their teams are against taking risks these days. loses happen. timmy needs a rest but i don't see that happening. i think they'll try make the michael zerafa fight & a run at middleweight. the kiwi middleweight is still rated high with the ibf so their are fights for timmy to rebuild. can he do it is the question
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

I wouldn't say he was overhyped at all. If anything he went what is no longer a common and expected route. Lean into new exposure and peruse the very best, get the fights Charlo and Ortiz and then have them fall out for whatever reason and face all comers in the meantime. Fighters 'betting' on themselves and going on with the show. That used to be a thing . Some guys are dammed if they do and damned if they don't today. Sit inactive being fed hyped stay busy fights or talk less and simply take their shot. Lots of post fight criticism aimed at his camp and Tszyu for not conceding vs Fundora and not taking an easier touch afterwards etc. Undoubtedly return to Oz and do some looking into his chest. Wouldn't be surprised if he's fighting early 2025 vs now a lighter touch to see where his head, literally, is at. And he'll be criticized for that too.

That's literally what they did with couch-slouch Chavez Jr, milked that name dry like the last heffer on the dairy farm. Tzsyu and pops weren't exactly 'close' in public and I'm not sure about otherwise, and he wanted to make his own name coming over. Chavez Jr and Tim are night and day. How many stools did he stay on, how many suspensions for banned substances and blown weights has Tszyu had. When's the last time he was handed gift decisions that were booed out of the arena in his own home country . He just doesn't strike me as a 'name' fighter who's pre interviews include standing in his kitchen in his underwear at 2am eating cereal out of a salad bowl.
