CANELO ALVAREZ will be desperate to add the final jewel to the crown and become the undisputed super-middleweight champion once again - but Cuban superstar William Scull stands in his way.

Boxing icon Canelo was forced to vacate his IBF title after failing to fulfill a mandatory defence obligation against Scull.

And as a result, Scull inherited the belt by beating the number two-ranked contender, Vladimir Shishkin, with a unanimous decision victory in October 2024.

As for Canelo, the Mexican superstar opted to go toe-to-toe with rival Edgar Berlanga a month earlier in Las Vegas.

Pure heart and determination helped the boxing mogul retain his unified titles by a unanimous decision of 117-110, 118-109 and 118-109, handing Berlanga his first career defeat in the process.

Now going full circle, Canelo has the chance to collect the final piece to his puzzle and reaffirm his status as one of the century’s greatest pound-for-pound fighters.
