Default Is the Heavyweight Division Finally Heating Up Again?

It feels like we’re finally entering another golden phase for the heavyweight division—or at least something close. Between Tyson Fury vs. Usyk actually being signed, Anthony Joshua looking dangerous again under Ben Davison, and contenders like Jared Anderson, Zhilei Zhang, and even Filip Hrgovic making waves, there’s a sense of momentum building.

Whether or not you think Fury or Usyk is the man at heavyweight, you can’t deny the division hasn’t been this compelling in years. Even the possibility of Wilder making one last run keeps things interesting.

Who do you have winning Fury vs. Usyk?

Do you think Joshua is really "back"?

Which up-and-comer are you watching most closely?

Curious to hear everyone’s thoughts—are we really seeing the heavyweight division become must-watch again?

I think Usyk will beat Tyson Fury and rock him in the 9th round. I also think he wins the rematch.

AJ will win against lesser opponents but when he faces someone who punches hard like Dubois, he gets splattered.

Parker will do well with Andy Lee and Agit Kabayel will beat all the leading contenders.

Have a sneaking suspicion that Tyson Fury will retire 10 more times after he and Usyk finally meet up. And Jared is the future no doubt about it. Nothing can stop a determined young talent like that, can only hope he finally gets a huge name .

Haha, wouldn’t be a Fury fight without a few retirements before and after 😄 Totally agree on Jared—he’s got the tools, just needs that breakout fight to put the division on notice. Let’s hope it comes soon!

I think Mike Tyson is very exciting and could become the next big thing in boxing.

    Huh?

Also, why was this moved to Off Topic?

Mike Tyson was the big thing in boxing — one of the most dominant heavyweights in history. If you mean a new up-and-coming fighter reminds you of Tyson, I’d love to know who you’re talking about. But Tyson himself made his debut in the '80s and became undisputed champ by '87. Definitely not the “next” big thing — he was the thing.

Appreciate that—wise words for sure. Definitely trying to stay grounded and just enjoy the ride. Heavyweight boxing’s finally heating up again, and I’m here for it!
