Thread: Mayweather Jr VS Vernon Forest

I simply beleive vernon has the basic tools to beat him. Please no one refer to the Mayorga fight because we know its all about the right match up, that determines the outcome of a fight.

what does vernon do that floyd doesnt do better

NOW?? vernon is clearly WAY past his prime. if you're relying on vernon/shane to get here, (a) those were a long time ago, (b) vernon was OUT OF THE SPORT for a chunk of time in between, and (c) mayweather is a better and smarter fighter than mosely, and would be able to come up with answers.

Now this would be an interesting fight. Yes, PBF is quicker than Forest, but so was Mosley.

I feel that Forrest is that tall rangy type of fighter with a good solid jab thats gonna give a shorter fighter fits everytime they meet.

Exactly. He just might be the kind of guy that could give PBF fits. But then again, Chico Corrales is 6 feet, and remember what PBF did to him. But then again, he aint the pure boxer Forest is.

No one should compare Corrales with Forrest different animals, Chico loves to load up and didnt'nt use his jab as much as he should have against Floyd but Vernon seems to commit himsef to throwing the jab, and it worked to perfection against Mosley who was lightning fast compared to Forrest.

Floyd has what Mosley never had, and thats technical skill. He would beat Vernon the same way Tszyu did in the olympics only worse because he's faster.

A prime Forrest would give Floyd a good fight i think. I still back Floyd to take a decision but if they fought tomorrow Vernon would be in for a early night.

Tha jab of Forrest is the difference. I don't know if Vernon's shoulder will ever be right again.
