Default How highly do you rate Sugar Shane at his prime??

I just had the pleasure of watching 4/5 fights of Mosley in the lower weights and he was AWESOME!!! Speed, power and the combos were awesome!!! Why did he move up in weight?? He would be an all time great had he stayed at 135. You think he could have beaten Floyd@135?? That would have been one of the best matches ever!!!! So what I want to know what you guys think of him,how highly you rate him etc.

At 135, he is one of the all time greats. I personally prefer the 147 version. The Adrian Stone KO, the Shannon Taylor 1st rd knockdown. The 4 and 5 punch combos. . . . . and then came Vernon.

IMO..Shane is top 5 all time at lightweight...33-0-32kos ...and i wish he wouldn't have skipped 140 because he and judah would have already fought by now...although Shane would have KO'ed him too...Shane and KT would have been great...but all that aside...Shane is top five lightweight all time...and even right now I believe that at 147 he will give PBF way more trouble than Judah could've dreamed of...

mosley was a very exceptional fighter at 135....awesome speed, and lightning combos.... he could very well have given floyd a run for his money at 135...

mosley is still extremely good now, though of course he's lost speed and doesnt throw combos anywhere nearly as frequently....

    top fighter IMO....

I don't think he would be a match for Floyd@147,the speed seems to have gone and so have the combos, they are not anywhere near as frequent and he sould easily KO Zab. The Tszyu fight would be awesome,I think Kostya could win,but one question, how good was Shane's chin

I always thought Shane had a pretty good chin. Aside from the Forest fight Shane has never really been hurt.

Shane's chin was excellent, only been dropped once, against forrest after the headbutt, he kinda wasn't himself for a moment due to the blood pour from his head, like the Jermaine taylor cut on the top of the head...and shane got caught with a hard rightfollowed by a perfect uppercut...but that was in the 2nd round...and he got up and won rounds in route to losing a UD to forrest in the first fight...Shane is extremely strong, said forrest...He could take KT's shot....

IMO KT is a boxers worst nightmare...and he is the grim reaper for any southpaw. You give him time to think then your losing the fight and if your a southpaw...learn to fight right handed coz you know your getting hit with that right all night and not many can last that for half a fight let alone 12 rounds.

Against Vargas, shane is 20 pounds north of his prime and 5 or 6 years past it...you don't even have to watch him at 135 to see his best stuff, besides he killed everybody down there...just watch him in the first de la hoya fight, or even his fights at 147 before he fought forrest....

Sorry Snakey, but this would be Kostya Tzsyu after fighting Shane at 140:

I didn't want to go that far and disrespect a great like KT, but yeah he probably would have one-sided KT at 140...

Dont think so, please explain to me why mosely and dela hoya didnt even try to fight tszyu at 140? They were the best but KT was the best of that division yet neither of them wanted to touch him. Could it be that he posed too much of a threat for too little money? I would say so.

don't know about Oscar, but Shane skipped 140 altogether...and never fought one fight at that weight..oscar on the other hand might have some explaining to do

I think the fights of him at 135,he was awesome!!! Basically all his fights up until the Forrest fight I'd say,but in particualr those at 135. I am about to get an external Hard drive, when I do,I'll be uploading all my fights,I'll put some Mosley ones up and let you know mate.

Snakey,I agree 100%,Kostya was AVoiDED LIKE THE PLAGUE@140. The only people that could beat him are guys that bumrushed him Phillps,Hatton. Boxers were perfect for him, gave him time to think, feel his way around.
