Default Mosley vs Whitaker at 135 lbs

I beleive although Whitaker was a deffensive genius he would have lost this one. Moasley in my eyes was unbeatable at 135lbs.

It would have been a tossup. Whitaker might not have been the biggest puncher around and he often frustrated opponents rather than dominating them, but he was nearly impossible to beat at 135 lbs. Mosley was a tough guy to beat too who never lost at lightweight and fought almost exclusively on the outside, but that was also Whitaker's game. It would have been very close, an intense boxing match of 2 speedy and skilled guys. The guys that Whitaker beat at lightweight:

    Jorge Paez
    Azumah Nelson
    Freddie Pendleton
Jose Luis Ramirez (lost their 1st bout, won the rematch)
    Louie Lomeli
    Greg Haugen
    Roger Mayweather
    Miguel Santana
    Juan Nazario
    Anthony Jones
    Policarpo Diaz

Some of those names might be unrecognizable to you, but that's because they drifted back into obscurity after Whitaker beat them. I remember wondering what would happen before the Roger Mayweather-Whitaker match, because Roger was taller, had a much longer reach and a bigger right hand. It didn't matter. Whitaker was too fast and slick for him and won by 6,6 and 4 points on the cards. Roger did knock him down once in the 9th round though.

    I didn't like Whitaker's style:

but he kept winning, and against the best guys around at 135 lbs.

Mosley's record at lightweight is also incredible. I haven't looked at it in awhile since he's still active and not yet over the hill.

Both are all time greats, and in my opinion, just about equally impressive at lightweight.

I think Whitaker even though he has much less power, and far less speed. His reflexes were better or just as good as Mosley's, and Mosley has always had trouble against skilled fighters, and the jab.
