    Default WTF?

    Look: http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=011677

Bob Arum, Promoter of both Antonio Margarito and Floyd Mayweather Jr., made an $8 million+ offer to Floyd for a fight against Margarito for the WBO title.

Cannot see Mayweather fighting Margarito, there is too little to gain, and far too much to lose. IMO Mayweather next fight will be either against Baldomir, DLH, Hatton or he gives Zab a rematch. They are the only four viable fights available IMO. And I reckon it will be Baldomir next

Bravo!!! Arum is doing the right thing in several ways. He knows who the best welterweights are and also knows that real boxing fans have been clamoring for this fight for many months. He's also not taking any crap from the IBF or Don King with their rematch garbage. I've seen it all before. Anyone remember the rematch baloney that Don King pulled with Terry Norris and his fights in 1994 and 1995 with Luis Santana? Trying to force fighters into rematches is clearly King's way of trying to exercise dictatorial control over the sport.

Anyway, a Margarito-Mayweather fight makes sense. There's a tidal wave of interest developing for this fight. It's a big gamble for Arum in 1 sense though. If the fight is a flop he can lose money and he knows it.

I think PBF will wait to see if ODLH makes a large offer to him...then he will decide....fighting ODLH for 8 million is a better deal because he would gain more by beating him...Margarito is only known by boxing enthusiasts

The funny thing is this...everyone says that there is so much interest in Margarito vs Mayweather...but that's only in boxing circles.

Outside of that...on HBO...who's on all the commercials?

Oscar & now Hatton is the big talk.

Like Floyd always says "If it don't make dollars it don't make sense."...don't you think that HBO thinks about that too?

Margarito vs Mayweather probably aint gonna happen because Margarito hasn't beaten anyone other than Cintron of late & no one outside of the boxing circle has ever really heard of him.

Everyone probably needs to look for Floyd to either face Judah again to keep that strap, fight Baldo to get another strap since he got stripped, or fight Hatton or Oscar.

I'd rather see him go ahead & fight Margarito now...just because I am so sick of reading his name & hearing alla the shat...after that...move on to Oscar & then Hatton.

I too want to see the fight so I can hear people stop talking shat about Tony. His situation reminds me of JMM,who beat everyone in front of him,had titles, respected by all writers and known by all true fans and you saw what he did to Pac. The Oscar fight most likely won't happen, as Arum won't allow and Oscar has been talking more and more about Tito. Oh and I'm sorry, what did Judah do to get a shot? What did Mitchell etc etc blah blah.
Secondly,it makes money,it make sense, well outside of De La Hoya, which may not happen,Floyd won't be making that much anywhere else.Margarito is soooo determined to have a shot that he does not care how much he earns,he just wants to fight and you know all the Mexicans/latinos are going to be there to support him. HBO just needs to make a few adverts, get some promos going, show Margarito savaging his opponents and rest assured, interest will rise enough,I mean they have shown some other shit fights too.
I agree,he may not beat Floyd but he has unbeaten at WW for 8/9 years,so no-one is more worthy.Plus I think my,Gyrokai and CutmeMicks PR work is buliding interest in the fight too,at least the millions who visit Saddos know who Margarito is.
People, if Floyd turns down this fight now,how will that make him look? All this if it makes dollars,it makes sense bullshit. Just fight the best like you did at lower weights, then you can run your gums.

If floyd doesn't take this fight and decide to fight hatton, then there shouldn't be a problem...he's not a natural WW...margarito will probably finish his career at middleweight or might even go as high as SMW...he's only had 2 fights at WW....and if he doesn't decide to take this fight...then no problem...

I've got a question...why is margarito only now being so vocal about wanting to fight "the best"...isn't that a bit convenient that the "best" boxer happens to be smaller than him...and if was so concerned with recognition why didn't he make all this noise about how much he doesn't care about money and try to fight....

Shane, ODLH, TRINIDAD, FORREST, SPINKS, MAYORGA, CARR, QUARTEY, JUDAH, VARGAS, WINKY, BRONCO McKaRT, DERREL COLEY, GATTI, WARD...

All these fighters where right there, for him to fight before mayweather got there..yet he hasn't fought any off them...they are all naturally bigger than floyd...yet Margarito didn't fight any of them...and winky and vargas were only one division up...but we saw what happen to margarito when he moved up only 7 pounds...I ain't calling Margarito a bytch or nothing like that...it's just funny that he elects to call out a blown up 130 pounder...just funny and also convenient...

And please for the sake of not sounding stupid please don't say that they all ducked him either...because that will just be dumb....

As dumb as saying he is calling out a blown up 130 pounder? oh,so when someone comes to your division from a lower weight, supposed P4P number 1 and you should not fight them? Now that is illogical nonsense! So MAB was a coward for fighting Pacquiao??

PACMAN wasn't 16 pounds south of Barrera..pacman only moved up 6 pounds and won....unlike Margarito who moved up 7 and loss...there's a reason why the smaller weight classes switch from one division to the next so frequently...it's because that's when the size matter most...

Listen if you put a 220 pounder in the ring with a 236 pounder..no big deal right...but if put a 140 pounder in the ring with a 156 pounder...that's bad..even worse is if you put a 126...in the ring with a 142 pounder....

Not saying PBF will be out weighed by 16pounds if they fight..he's still a much smaller fighter...Tony has even came in the ring as high as 157...
