to me the biggest shock of the night wasn't that De La Hoya won, that was already known that it was gonna happen, the big shocker was that clear first round knockdown![]()

Hulk is probably sobbing himself to sleep rocking back and forth in a fetal position repeating his prediction "Mayorga will KO him, Mayorga will KO him"
I'm right motherfukin here!Kick a man when he is down huh? No I didn't sob, I threw a few things, said a few naughty words and generally felt very disapointed. I had been waiting for this fight for a very long time, Mayorga was/is my favorite fighter in the world. But I can't help feeling a little like Mike Tyson's diehard fans have felt in recent years, hurt, betrayed, letdown. Maybe Mayorga did his best, maybe it just wasn't enuff, or maybe he conned me and everyone who bought the fight one last time. Sayin wild things, actin like he truly wanted to win, then comin in takin a beating, and leaving without givin so much as an interview. He abandoned the jab he had developed last fight, didn't keep his freakin right hand up. His chin looked worse than ever and he only threw two punch combos, three at best, not the 4 and 5 punch combos he used to. This is a very disheartening loss, and it is hard for me to look forward to other fights. This was THE FIGHT for me this year. Mayorga had one last chance at being more than a "flash in the pan", more than a one hit wonder, he had a chance at a legacy and he blew it. Instead, the phony, fake, manipulating, punk, Oscar won. I hold no real hate for Oscar, and I would not get much satisfaction out of Mayweather defeating him, though I imagine he would. My favorite fighter lost, and this time with no redeeming actions, no knockdown, no last stand, just blasted out in 6 rounds on the ropes like a chump, like Gatti, like Yory Boy. Don't think you'll be seein me as much on here, hard to get excited bout anything else, after this. HUGE LETDOWN.

Hey Hulk.... have a CC on me. You can be a little irritating from time to time, but if you're big enough to come in and face the music when you know everyone's gonna be rubbing your face in it..... that makes you a good boxing fan in my book. By the way, for whatever it's worth, I was rooting hard for Mayorga. I've never been a fan of the "Golden Boy's" mystique or image. But in the back of my mind I also have to admit that I would've bet on DLH. Mayorga's style is too tailor-made for him.Originally Posted by Hulk
But don't be too upset. Mayorga didn't quit. He went down like the fighter he is. And whether he retires or not, I'm glad he's been in boxing. He always went all out and didn't need any of that damn marketing sh*t to make him popular. Hang around, dude.
Hey man, next to you, I think I'm Mayorga's greatest fan. I actually lost my voice for a bit after and during the fight as I was screaming at the TV. Fact is, Mayorga went up against better boxer plain and simple. He was telegraphing his punches from a mile a way and Oscar had plenty of time to see them as they were coming from left field. I'm really at a lost of words as well as I was hoping for that once slight chance Mayorga would land one of his haymakers but it wasn't meant to be. I hope he just simply retires and calls it a career. It was bad enough seeing the beating Tito gave him but DLH beating on him was actually worse...Don't want to see Mayorga suffer any permenant damage.Originally Posted by Hulk
