this is an issue thats troubling me....PBF is barely settled in at 147 and is 154 a realistic target to meet Oscar at after that demonstration of power....
im a little confused about all this....

154,Floyd may lose more speed,I don't think he carries his power well AAAAND, I think Oscar would find it difficult to come back to 154 because of his age and anyway,he seems comfortable there,if he comes down,I don't think he will have the speed to macth Floyd but I have learnt a valuable lesson from tonight....never go against a fired up De La Hoya!!!
Well if DLH could get down to 147...I think that would just add to his advantage...he would be faster yet still naturally stronger...IMO PBF fighting Oscar would be the same kind of mistake that DLH and TITO made when they fought Hopkins...Just to much of a physical size and natural power difference....Originally Posted by miles
it's ok when you are going against the Gatti's and Juda's who are thrown out of their game plans and crumble...but against guy's the level of DLH and Wright at 154 is just trying to fight the laws of nature....A good little man can beat a big man...except when the big man is just as good

its a tricky one isnt it? it means the fight is not so cut and dry.....there are still other variables at play...Originally Posted by The Game
I think the fight should be at 147 because Oscar could easily make that weight... he was at 154 quite a while before the fight, and he still looked like he could of lost weight at the weigh in...
I agree 147 would favor De la hoya if he can get down to that weight. Oscar would just bust up Floyd by muscleling him around, I mean yeah there is that speed Issue with PBF but Oscar isn't all that slow from what I saw yesterday and at 147 it be more of a tactical fight for Floyd. Besides I seriously doubt that Pretty boy has the power to hurt Oscar at 147 much less knock him out.![]()
does ODH going down to 147 help him more than making PBF come up to 147 hurt him? Since handspeed and movement is whats going to win it for PBF I think making him move up is the better idea for ODH.

PBF is already at 147...he hasn't shown much power there but then again it takes time...he didn't show power when he moved to lightweight but he eventually got there.
147 is too light for Oscar, maybe a catch weight, 152 like ODH-Mosley2
154 so PBF can pick up another green belt with his win![]()

Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!
154 is going to be PBF's baine.....He'd better hope for 147....anything higher and he's looking at his first loss....maybe even fighting ODLH at 147 might not be too good for PBF's career....Originally Posted by bgordon
It feels good to be back home.
Floyd has already said he wants the fight at 154 for the belt.
There is no way Floyd beats a motivated Oscar at 154lb but there is also no way I would bet money on it eitherFloyd wins a UD with his Dad in the other corner, everbody gets rich and then Floyd signs with Golden Boy Productions.

De La Hoya said he would be at 147 to fight Mayweather
147, 154 same outcome. Oscar wins
I think making PBF go up to 154 would be clearly better for Oscar, he won't have to struggle to make weight, and if anything another jump in weight can't help PBF's speed, and its likely that he'd be a bit slower. And any strength he adds going up, if he does add strength, isn't gonna be a factor cause Oscar would still be the bigger, stronger man.
