I HATE how they are saying Oscar erases............. his knockout loss to B-Hop with this performance. Oscar didnt erase sh*t. The only way he can erase that is by defeating B-Hop, but we all know that aint gonna happen cuz they buddy buddy golden boy partners now.

LOL true, but if Oscar fought the way he did last night, I think B-hop would have more trouble..

Besides he did pretty well... Oscar was winning on all scorecards until round 8, then hopkins won 2 and on the 9th he got that not so hard looking hook to the side of oscar, I tihnk oscar could've gotten up, it seemed to dramatized IMO.

I agree... I'm a little uneasy about that knockdown. At the same time I can't see why Oscar would stay down if he could get up. It did seem dramatized though. He was rolling around, and banging the canvas. Usually when a guy is put away with a body shot, he just doubles over, or takes a knee, winces and is unable to move in time.

He wouldn't have beaten Hopkins by being more aggressive, he would have been in worse shape then he ended up in.

A good big man will almost everytime beat a good small man. Oscar in all sincerety isn't even a junior middleweight, at tops he is a welterweight. Oscar looks considerably small framewise next to legitimate jr middles with castilejo and vargas, whereas bernard is a solid middleweight possibly a super middleweight. oscar didn't belong in the ring with hopkins that fight should not have happened it was a mismatch.

I can understand how some ppl can question oscar takin a dive, but wouldn't losing a uninamous decision be less embarrasing than getting koed. also he didn't seem to be banging the golve as soon as he went down. watch the fight he was in pain and paralyzed for the whole ten count and after some recuperation starting banging his golve in frustration. for fighters it is the worst feeling to get kayoed than anything else even getting injured.
"Very few people really understand what it means to be a fighter. I hate it when I hear someone say, 'That fighter doesn't have guts. I hate that, I don't care if you're a world champion six times over or a four-round fighter, to step inside that ring, you have to have guts" Oscar De La Hoya

I have to agree. I am very suspicious about that knockout, in retrospect. It really did not seem legit. It seems pretty unthinkable that DLH would be involved in something like that, but I have a feeling the whole thing was done to put Hopkins "over", to borrow a wrestling term.

Just look at the knockdown, the reaction and then the promotion of Hopkins afterwards. DLH even made reference to the knockout at least once during a Hopkins PPV promotion, in a sort of self-deprecating manner not common in fighters.

I can't say this erases anything, but shows that Oscar is still in good shape. Mayorga hasn't been the same since he was destroyed by Tito. Also, he has been inactive. Oscar only proved that he can still punch.

Hopkins led on 2 scorecards after the 8th wide enough that he could have given away the next 4 rounds and won the fight. Oscar only led on 1 scorecard by 2 rounds.

How has anyone said this erases the Hopkins fight? They are just saying he is much better shape, and is fighting alot better than he was when he fought Hopkins, and has been in awhile.
