Just days after Oscar De La Hoya thrilled a sellout Las Vegas crowd in an enthralling sixth round knockout victory over Nicaraguan madman, Ricardo Mayorga, in his first fight in almost twenty months; it seems as if the "Golden Boy" might have to answer some difficult questions. De La Hoya failed a standard post fight urinanalysis and tested positive for a banned simulant after the amazing knockout. Neither De La Hoya nor the WBC could not be reached for comment.
Floyd Mayweather Jr, the world's #1 pound for pound fighter and rumored next opponent for De La Hoya issued this statement, "I knew Oscar was on some S***. These Mexicans always ruining S*** for us. That was the biggest money fight in boxing. I was gonna get paid by the duffle bags. I don't even care that I belong at 140, if it makes dollars, it makes sense. First Judah, now this? I'll tell you mother fuckers this, I still ain't fighting Margarito. Who the F*** is Margarito? Name one guy he's beat and Cintron doesn't count. Since Oscar and Margarito are out of the question, I'm gonna finally give the world the mega fight they have been waiting. Me and this guy have been waiting to get it on. In September, the biggest fight in boxing will finally take place. Pretty Boy Floyd vs. Sharmba Mitchell II. This time, it's personal. I respect Sharmba's fight game, but I don't respect Sharmba as a man. This fight won't go the distance, everybody tune into HBO PPV."
Mayorga, De La Hoya's victim on Saturday night, made the following statement through his interpreter, "De La Hoya's a fag. He's lucky that he was on something because I was gonna get up from the canvas and detach his retina. I was gonna take his soul and then just sit there and stare at his wife from the ring. I was gonna take a dump in the ring and wipe my a** with his Grammy award. Then I was gonna knock his head off like I knocked over that lawn furniture in the commercial we were in. He probably took Viagra to grow some balls to trade with me."
Bernard Hopkins, boxing legend and current De La Hoya business partner, had this to say late Monday night through a teleconference, "Oscar failed what? Tarver must have got to him. I told Oscar, don't trust Tarver, that boy is on that white, and he didn't listen. I don't know what to say, I'm shocked. I will say this though, you all saw round 12, yall gon tell me Jermain won that fight? Duane Ford is racist man. Taylor didn't even look like he won the fight but they gave him the decision. It's a conspiracy man, they don't wanna give me my props."
The Nevada Athletic Commission is scheduled to meet with De La Hoya on Thursday to discuss payoffs.
