Thread: why is ODLH not fighting Winky?

I continually read post about PBF,Tito and Sturm matching up with oscar. Both he and Winky were at 154 for at least 6 to ten years..Someone please inform me why this fight hasn't materialized. Last year they discussed it but Oscar said his wife was pregnant and he didn't want to train while she was. After june 17 when Winky gives JT his boxing lesson ODLH needs to be a man and stop hyping up hand picked fights with bar room brawlers. at one point he and Winky had all the belts .....and unification was no where in his vocabulary ....

BAD STYLE MATCH UP! Plus Wink is at 160 right now where ODH looked really heavy. ODH had best leave Winky for the bigger guys who might be able to out muscle him

Yeah....you're right but I have been watching Winky be such a humble fighter for years. and soon as he got his big chance with Vargas he got robbed . since then he has done nothing but stay on top of his game. I think he needs to put OScar on his list of victims to ensure his name as one of the all-time greats.

Beating taylor would be good enough, beating Calzaghe would too.

I still think Jermaine will teach him a thing or two about big boxers though!

i actually think winky is a great styl;istic matchup for oscar..oscar can jab with winky and he doesnt have to worry about winky hurting him...oscar is technically sound enough to get to winky ...... winky has nothing to hurt oscar and oscar can get to him with that big left hook

Winky is the bigger guy, he could hurt Oscar with that jab...Winky has hurt tons of fighters with that jab, look what he did to the bigger harder punching Trinidad!!!

ODH can hit him with that hook all day and Winky will block it...to beat him you're gonna have to either dig to the body or land a straight shot upstairs! His D is too tight for hooks...maybe uppercuts but he is too upright for those to be effective

First of all J.T is much too sloppy and Put me on record saying "this will be one of the easiest fights W.W has ever had. he telegraphs his punches W.W is too sharp for that..you should ask yourself why would an undEFEATED fighter change trainers ? and he would totally embarrass ODLH....FORGET ABOUT IT! ODLH hook wouldn't be a factor ! are you forgetting he has fought people with much more explosive offenses than ODLH...who's hook would you rather face ODLH or TITOS. oscar hasn't faced W.W because he knows he can't win! PERIOD !

That's what people said when he fought B-Hop...Taylor is a big boy, he is allowed to make mistakes his natural size and strength can help him out...he'll beat Winky.

I agree about Oscar though, but why ask a question you already know the answer to? You know ODH is too small to beat Winky, and Winky is very good but Taylor will beat him, no doubt in my mind!

Give him a chnace to get by Taylor first
then see what happens

J.T won't land a punch.the best boxer vs. uncoordinated strength after 6 rds. he'll stop punching. And again why do you think he hired Emmanuel Steward who referred to J.T as still-fighting like an amateur even after his second victory over B-hop!

its because he will loose, therefore he is scared

And he was still able to beat B-Hop who everyone thought was untouchable at the time...he hurt him too.

Wright fought 2 154 pounders in Mosley and Trinidad...Taylor is more diverse in his attack and a bigger guy and a harder puncher

winkys class, his defence is so good its like he covers up like a turtle

up untill recently there was no money in the fight with winky zilch, only after him beating shane and tito that people actually want to see oscar fight winky. Winky-Oscar in the years 2000 to 2004 would have generated absolutely no interest in the boxing world and oscar always wants the biggest fight out there, that is not considered ducking. he has mentioned him as an opponent but its most likely not going to happen because of winky's fight with jermain and there is too little time till september to squeeze another fight in.
