Default Why Oscar DeLaHoya VS. Floyd Mayweather makes good sense!!!!

First word...Money. From any business stance, no matter what the money cost, Oscar and Floyd make the financial risk obsolete. The millions that would ensue from a fight like this would be ample profits enough to line everyone's pockets with money. It's not a gamble, as there is no financial risk in this one....it's the sure thing.

If Oscar was looking for a good retirement plan...facing Floyd Mayweather Jr in one last hurrah would not only be a great way to seal his legacy... but the financial pay out would amount to a massive amounts of cash. The kind of money that was unheard of before Oscar broke on the scene and changed the Market and it's value.

The only thing stopping this cash cow from feeding, is Oscar De La Hoya. Facing the idea of retirement and the possibility of one last mega money making fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr... Oscar maybe rich, but he is certainly not stupid. Sure, he has more than enough cash and investments to carry him on... but the money involved in a retirement match with Floyd would be huge and not even De La Hoya would have it easy ignoring the cash profits to be made.

I am not a betting man, but I am willing to bet this is a for sure thing.... Oscar will fight Floyd. He won't retire before that. The money is too great for anyone, including Oscar to ignore.
Also if Oscar & Floyd agree to fight at 154 lbs. then Oscar's chances are alot better.

The more Oscar plays the role of "will I, or won't I" with the media.... you know that's more Hype he is just putting into the Nest Egg. And that's what you call... "Money in the Bank." Cha-Ching!

really this is what the truest boxing fans...shouldn't want to see...come on oscar is not the same anymore...floyd is in his prime...just because oscar k.o don kings puppet mayorga he suddenly is back and deserve a shot at p4p king floyd...this is what i hate about floyd...his as green as oscar is...he need to fight margarito hatton maybe even winky...don't he rather prove he really is the best instead of fighting downhill delahoya...come on wheres the honor in that...

boxing is so easily dictated by this money hungry monkeys...Remember the days ali use to just clown and say how good he is instead of how much he'll get for a fight...remember when ray robinson hated fighting broxn bull but still he did it to prove his a g.o.a.t...REmember the days boxer where boxers instead of business mans...

Dela Hoya doesnt need the money, if he wanted this fight he should of made it for this fall, Mayweather would win this fight no problem in my eyes, Floyd should be fighting guys in there prime hungry fighters at the top of the game, if this fight did come off it will be next year so Oscar would of fought twices in like over three years?? Do you really think that is good preperation for a guy like Floyd mayweather.

Alot of people seem to discredit Oscar's power & boxing ability! Oscar wants to secure himself in the boxing hall of fame & beating the no' 1 P4P fighter would just do that!!!!

i doubt he'll beat floyd...he got k.o'ed by an old bhop...it'll be even harder against a young floyd in floyds prime...lets not get overly excited his last win was against mayorga...enough said...sturm beat him clearly...his career is already h.o.f potential another devastating lost against floyd won't help his campagne for h.o.f...

De La Hoya will be the hardest fight i think Floyd will of had, or at least in a long time. I think this will be alot closer then people think.

I think you could be right - Last fight Oscar looked as good as he ever has done and lets face it De La Hoya is some fighter. This would be a real close fight and thats why we all want to see it.

I just think that DeLeHoya will pull off a Hopkins move & ride off into the sunset defeating a top fighter & that will be PBF

Oscar was gone? Where did he go? Sure he got ko'd by Hopkins but honestly what did you expect? That fight didn't prove that Oscar was over the hill. It proved that his step up was a step too far.

    Oscar will KO Floyd.

As far as remembering when boxers were boxers instead of business mans ... you mean the days when they were pugs at the mercy of the business mans? I prefer to see them do their own thinking, their own fighting and their own business as much as they can.

Just cuz something was in the old days doesn't make it the 'good old days.'
