Re: What did you think of Pacquiao's performance.
I think he was a bit tense and little cautious before his home crowd, where almost all the local celebrities and VIP's were present, and opted to box more and to evade more than usual (he was almost unscathed after the fight). Remember, he carries the weight of his whole country on his shoulders! Probably the memories of unexpected knockdowns he suffered during 2 previous fights before his home crowd may have haunted him. Another reason might be that he didn't want to take much chances before yet another big fight against Morales.
But, on the hindsight, it wasn't entirely a bad idea. He showed that he can box and still hurt his opponent, and was also able to evade most shots, all for the entire 12 rounds. He outlasted a man known for his stamina! It was a totally lopsided fight as you can see from the scores, and also, you might want to see wackooooos account of the fight, which I almost totally agree with, where he gave only a round or two for Larios. Pacman did almost everything while Larios just survived on his heart, stamina and right hand. But only strange thing that Pacman did (or maybe not do, in this case) was he didn't try to finish off his opponent when he got him; he even touched gloves after Larios came up from a knockdown! Why
!!! Just can't understand it; it was so unlikely of him. But nevertheless, it was a nice fight, albeit a bit lopsided. It showed the other aspect of Pacman we seldom see. But still, I'll give a big A+ to Larios for his heart.
Once in awhile, get outside in fresh air, take a deep breath & with a deep sigh, let out all the things that's bottled up inside you & be free, & you'll get a glimpse of nirvana.
