Any news on his return?
I never liked the guy, I thought he lost to Leo Dorin, however, I think he could add depth to 140 or 147.
How would he do vs the top level guys?

@135
Juan Diaz
Corrales
Frietas
Raheem
Morales
@140
Cotto
Castillo
Demetrius Hopkins
Witter
The Petersons
@147
Hatton
Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Margarito
Quintana
Baldomir
Gatti
I think he would have given any of them a good fight if he stayed in boxing, but he's been in jail so I say none.
At 135 his best chance would be Morales and Raheem, but i still think he beats no one.Originally Posted by Lyle

At 147 he can beat Baldomir and maybe Quintana
First he needs some tune-up fights, because i think all of those fighters would beat him right now.
I also think that Dorin beat Spadafora.
I read that he was trying to get his boxing license reinstate in Pennsylvania. I will see if I can find the link.

I live in Pittsburgh and saw in the paper about 2 months ago that Paul was gettin out of jail on bail and was hoping to start training again. Dunno if that'll happen though...before he went to jail he was addicted to alcohol and the yayo.
Here's a video of him sparring Mayweather a while back (Before Mayweather-Castillo 1 i think) and he was whooping on an out of shape PBF pretty bad.

Paul is already back and won his first fight in ERIE,PA in a fifth round tko....fight was stopped!....he is to fight again i think on march 7th...
'The Pittsburgh Kid' Spadafora... All the talent in the world and skills to hand out.... He reminds me of 'Mi Vida Loca' Tapia in more ways then one.....
Yeah!! I read an article stating those things.... Sad really....Originally Posted by dasamm

Would be a great story if he did comeback and became Champ. allover again..
i know paul personally and this kid is in the best shape of his life right now...while he was in jail ...none of his training stopped ...he worked out jogged and even got in trouble in the yard for throwing jabs while running...( not aloud to do that in prison)...i watched him train when he came home and all i can say is that the pittsburgh kid is hungry...and to bring up a lil something about floyd...that dude is a bitch and wanted to much money to fight paul...i think he was scared to be honest with yea!

I see what your saying about the training in jail, but you and I both know traning in jail & traning in a gym outside of jail is not the same.... I know theres a few jails with boxing programs & stuff like that unless he was in one of those programs but that I'm aware of he wasn't. Also an important factor in traning is your trainer the eyes behind your head, the person who fixes & straightens out as best as he can your flaws....
i agree 100%...i was just trying to put it out there that he is in shape...he also did a bootcamp program...and we all know how intense that is...he did it with no problem.
I know a guy who worked as an editor in Pittsburgh during the Dorin fight. One of his guys went to the gym everyday for a week for an interview with Paul. He was big in Pittsburgh. And every day, Spadafora wasn't there. He just wasn't committed.
Glad to hear he's in good shape now Shamus, just hope it's not to late![]()
