Default DID JERMAIN TAYLOR DESERVE A DRAW AGAINST WINKY ??

I believe Jermaine Deserved his belt to be retained, but I think Winky can Beat Jermain Easily with a view of the tape from the last fight. Winky knows that jermain suceptible to Right Jabs, and he leaves his left hand down. Jermane really never hurt Winky, even when Jim Lampley said," WINKY BADLY HURT." I disagreed. Winky is just that type of fighter. He'll let you pound away at his gloves just as he did with Trinidad, and he may get a little off balance from standing with his feet too close together, but he don't get hurt that way & he comes back with immaediate Jabs & Occasional Left Straights, so how was winky ever Hurt. I believe that WINKY WRIGHT deserved the Belt, but Jermaine also deserved his draw on the other hand. But he did not deserve a Victory, definately. Although when someone has a Draw, the Champion, keeps the belt I would've much rather seen Winky WRight win the fight, cause it would make boxing more interesting....
Another Thing.......I think Bernard Hopkins will come out of retirement one day...He's just planning on waiting for Jermaine Taylor to Lose the Belt so he can Win the belt again after retiring which will boost his Legendary Status even more. Think of Ali, Think of Sugar Ray Leonard...They all did it, and Hopkins is no different. He'll have a few more fights left in him then he's done, trying to obtain that icon status...

by punchstat winky derserved it but that can misleading because say winky landing 20 more punches in 3 rounds and then both taylor and winky land equal shots other rounds then punchstat numbers would say 60 more but say taylor outboxed him other rounds but only outlanding winky by 1 or 2 punches by the end of the fight punchstat numbers would say winky landed more but dont mean he would derserve to win it

Nope. He didn't deserve a win or the draw.

Wright was the smaller man & was the more effective fighter down the stretch of the fight.

    Wright also outlanded Taylor.

I thought Winky deserved the win.Wright outlanded Taylor, was controlling the action, great ring generalship and just bossed the fight. Taylor only fought back when he needed to get out of a tight spot and remember that WInky was the smaller man. The only thing I did not agree with was Winky's attitude in the last round, regardless of whether you thought you won or not,the correct attitude in a championship fight would be to close the show, and taking into account that JT was poor in that round too, makes Winky's decision not to take advantage look really poor.

that's all true and good, but it's also irrelevant because that's not what happened. winky outlanded taylor in THE MAJORITY of the rounds. just watch the fight.

cc... as for Wright getting 'rocked'... all I saw was him taking punches on gloves and rolling with them.

The only person who was properly rocked was Taylor by Winky's cross.

Not if you listened to Jim (phantom punch) Lampley. I challenge anyone to rewatch that fight and count the punches J.T actually landed ...I won't say what I came up with because it will sound ludicrous.... I dare anyone !

Draw doesn't bother me too much. If Taylor had gotten the win I'd be pretty pissed.
