frustrating it is always about the money.. I do understand it but i just wish sometimes they would do it for the hardcore fans.

Easy to say when it's not you facing someone who has trained for the last few months with the express intention of rendering you unconscious. Plus the big money fights are normally "big" for the precise reason that "hardcore fans" are willing to shell out for PPV because of the interest in the fight. If Margarito keeps winning then he will gets the fights he deserves, should we just express clear him into the big time because we're "hardcore" fans? Mosley probably deserves a last pop at the big time. Although he will lose either by a landslide decision or late KO.

I do know what your saying but PBF must be so rich anyway now i dont see why he has to talk about money in ever sentance.

8 millions seems a bit high for the Magarito fight. As in fairly astronomical. But I don't know any different so if what you say is right then I can't argue. I would agree with you as although i'm a fan of PBF purely on an aesthetic level, his character is definitely grating. I think as fight fans that we like to think that our heroes are doing it for the love of the game etc, but were we in their shoes we'd probably be gravitating to the biggest cheque every time. All it takes is a bad day at the office and who knows what could happen. Mind you, it makes it worthwhile when people like PBF adopt this kind of attitude and eventually lose. Although I can't see that happening any time soon.

Apparently it is $8m. I find that bizarre that PBF wouldn't take that, especially considering he is all about the money. Not many other fights out there for him which will justify such a price tag. Plus, even though Mosley probably warrants a last swansong, it hardly gets me excited.

The average armchair boxing fan does not shell out his hard earned money on PPV - he will simply catch a cheaper replay or look for the highlights..

Wheras a die-hard fan will watch just about anything - and Margarito is certainly a match up that all us forum visitors would snap up.

I believe that his excuse for not facing a 'ready to roll' Maragrito is wafer thin.

He could make more money in that fight than any previous fight and still goes calling out guys who have fought only days ago - knowing full well they wont commit until they have had a rest and holiday and are thinking fresh again.

What is the point in that?

someone answer me why a fighter would call out someone, who at best would take 4 months to get his prep together to fight again? - especially there is a deal on the table for mega bucks!!

Mayweather and more importantly HBO are waiting on the winner of Baldomir - Gatti that is why he is rated no.1 with the WBC. Hopefully Baldomir wins in emphatic fashion so with Zab, Gatti and the WBC belt HBO have found Floyd a dance partner for November. I don't mind at all because it gives us a legit lineal Champion.
