Does Floyd Mayweather Jr give a rat's ass about the Fans? Just who are the fans anyway? The Fans are the ones who make boxing possible. Without their voice and appreciation for the sport...one can assume the Sport of Boxing would have been banned years ago by Politicians and the rest of the General public who could care less about a savage sport we call a "science."

For pretty much months now fans have been clamoring for Mayweather to put the Fan's money where his mouth is and fight Antonio Margarito. Of course many believe Mayweather Jr is in fear of Margarito, and watching Mayweather come up with reasons not to face Margarito for a whopping 8 million dollars, solidifies to many fans that Mayweather is
in fact terrified of Margarito.

If Margarito was an easy challenge and Mayweather was sure of the outcome, he'd go on and take the money and run.

Quoted in the Las Vegas Sun, Mayweather had this to say about Margarito: "Look at Antonio Margarito, how can you possibly sell a pay-per-view with a guy like this?

First of all, someone needs to tell Mayweather at this point its not about the PPV numbers, and Mayweather does not need to worry his pretty little head about who is going to buy...because the 8 million is already on the line. Second, the more Mayweather kicks and screams that Margarito is not worth an 8 million dollar challenge, the more and more fans will come to the conclusion that Mayweather is nothing more than a "FRAUD." Mayweather's name outside of the Sport of Boxing is NO Bigger than Margarito's. In fact outside the world of Boxing, I am willing to bet more Mexican American's know Margarito than the African American population knows who Mayweather is. Outside of Boxing, Mayweather is unknown.

More pathetic lines from a scared man...Mayweather quoted by the LV Sun said: "Antonio Margarito's got four losses on his record to journeymen. He's got one world title, he fights straight up and down, no special effects, and you talk about wanting to get in there with a guy like me? I've got way too much for him. Get some more world titles under your belt, get some much more known opponents, then pick up the phone."

Never mind the 8 million on the line, never mind the fact that Mayweather looked less than Pound for Pound when he fought the newest Journey man in Zab Judah. Zab's loss to Carlos Baldomir meant nothing to Mayweather and in return Maywether vs. Judah meant nothing to the fans. Mayweather's stock plummeted when he took on the extremely worthless Judah. At the point Judah lost to Bladomir, he became levels below Margarito. You can not say Margarito is not worthy but still go ahead with the fresh loser in Judah. Margarito will raise Mayweather's stock...Judah has lowered it.

Now it seems Mayweather is trying hard to save face and possibly his ailing career by wanting to ignore Margarito and fight "Sugar" Shane Mosley. It won't work.

Mayweather needs to listen to the fans, and read what the most important writers in the industry are saying about him. If Mayweather wants to read "nutt-hugging" articles about his pathetic career, and talk to only small worthless websites that throw roses and kisses his way...then his popularity will suffer. It is suffering today, and eventually at this rate it won't take long until fans go elsewhere to pop down their money and support.

Mayweather needs to stop making excuses why he is not fighting Margarito. Just admit to fans he is terrified of Margarito. A true Pound for Pound King would not turn down popular demand and make excuses why he isn't fighting Margarito for 8 million. After all, Mayweather is not in a place in his career where he can outright say he is more deserving than any other fighter.

For me and judging by message boards and what others are writing, Mayweather is terrified of Margarito. By wanting "Sugar" Shane over Margarito, Mayweather can "Sugar" coat his problems all he wants.... but at the end of the day, Fans will not forget, and the name of "FRAUD" will stick.

Floyd Mayweather is a fighter who in more recent times has infuriated me more than satisfied me as a boxing fan. To be honest I really dont think Floyd is "terrified" of Margarito, but I really feel he is making churlish decisions and more than hand picking his opponents and he's been doing it for over 3 years now. Yes, Floyd has fought some excellent contenders, but who has he fought in recent memory? Yes, we can say Zab Judah was a step up in class after a move up in weight. But Zab was no natural Welterweight and Zab had just lost to Baldomir. This discredited the fight in the eyes of many. But did this influence the thinking of tunnel vision Floyd? Of course not. He went out and beat Zab as most of us expected.

This leaves us with Floyd where he is now. He has money being thrown at him to fight Margarito. He is ignoring it. Many in the fight game want to see this fight. As ever tunnel vision Floyd pays little heed to these calls. Instead of seeking out fights with other hungry young fighters, he is seeking out fights with bigger men who have seen their best days pass them by. As good as Mosley and Oscar are, they are not the fighters they were half a decade ago. I would love to see the younger models take on Floyd. They would be REAL challenges for Floyd. Floyd knows where the money is and he wants more belts. The belts seem to talk more to Floyd than actually proving his worth in any division as he moves up. Again a blatant disregard of those that know the depths within these divisions. A kick in the face of those that really care about the sport and the fighters within....

Floyd is the most talented fighter we have in terms of natural skills, I only wish he would start applying those skills in the fights that really matter.....

He isn't afraid of Margarito. Margarito is afraid of anyone who isn't the absolute best in the division that has a different style that doesn't involve standing in front and trading

sure there is a big money against magarito but he can make bigger money w/ mosley.

Here is the deal . Margarito is the one scared ,and wants to make this Mayweather money before he gets exposed by someone half decent and gets pushed off the charts. He just hasa big record consisting of marginal opponents ! give me a break guys … Mayweather scared of Margarito its really funny when you stop and think about it !

There are more deserving fighters out there ! Hatton, Tszyu, Mosley, Delahoya, why these guys because they have fought top guys they have fought the best and beat the best ! once Margarito fights some top guys , he then earns bragging rights and everyone can make a case, about Floyd fighting him but until then the jury is out , Margarto may turn out to be a flop willy ?

Tszyu-has not fought in over a year since quiting vs hatton and is pretty much retired.
Mosley- already came out and said PBF should go ahead and fight margarito because hes not ready (weight wise)

i have absolutely no clue why margarito wont fight those guys, if its true. i very much doubt that anyone other than tony and his team does....you might be right( i dont think so) but thats your opinion....its true hatton took that risk, so why dont they fight? i dont play into the whole pbf is a fraud deal, or that he is afraid but i still dont like to think that pbf is such a "god" that tony does not deserve a shot at him.....i understand all the arguments concerning this fight, on why it should and should not happen i dont agree w/ all of it but i get it...what i dont get is why this is such a big deal.....fighters fight, why if tony is so unskilled and so overrated why doesn't pbf just shut ppl the fuck up get in the ring and handle tony.....who do you think PBF should fight next?

Starr,your points have no basis on fact...nothing new there....I LAREADY posted the article and I PMED you it where it clearly says Sharmba turned down the oppertunity to fight Toni. Second,you say why doesn't he fight a different style,err,Daniel Santos is almost a bigger version of Collazo but more powerful and he was MEANT to box in their second fight..not Toni's fault he didn't.

Also,if these big fights do not go through,Margarito is going to fight Quintana who is a slick slick southpaw boxer. Also,your memory seems to have failed you on the numerous times Margarito called out Judah for a unification fight...Judah,the coward said he would fight the winner of Cintron-Toni,but did he How many more styles you want Toni to face? That is ridiculous to say he wants to lose so he can say e lost to the best,NO true professional would do that.He believes that he can beat Floyd,simple as that.

CC for the read Uncle Miles,although I disagree,I don't think he is scared but apprehensive to fight Tony at this moment in time because he knows he could lose/get hand broken etc and that may jeopardise an Oscar fight? We cannot say conclusivley until he announces his next opponent.

I wouldnt go as far to say that Mayweather is terrified but like Miles stated he just picking the perfect fights for him at the time.Anyways i really really hope this fights comes off coz i think it will be a cracker, Floyd UD.
