JAILED Sheffield boxing star Naseem Hamed met his newborn son for the first time yesterday - in prison.
During an emotional 90 minute visit to Moorland Open Prison in Doncaster, Hamed kissed and cuddled his three-day old son.
The tot was taken there by Hamed's wife Eleasha, who he was also seen embracing during the tearful visit.
Eleasha gave birth to the couple's third child without Hamed by her side when prison officials refused to allow him out for the occasion.
The disgraced former World Champion applied to be allowed out for the birth as soon as he was jailed for dangerous driving in May and realised he would miss it.
Hamed, known as Prince Naz in the boxing ring, was sentenced to 15 months for causing a 90mph smash which almost killed 39-year-old Anthony Burgin, from Bents Green.
The boxer drove his £320,000 Mercedes McLaren SLR sports car into the path of Mr Burgin's VW Golf on Ringinglow Road last May, leaving him with fractures to every major bone in his body.
A prison source said Hamed rushed into the communal visiting area to be reunited with his wife and to meet his son for the first time.
Eleasha was seen wiping tears from her eyes as he hugged and kissed her before scooping his son into his arms and kissing his forehead.
