The sad thing about Toney is that the guy has the skill to be the best Heavyweight in the world. What he lacks is dicipline enough to keep in good shape. If he had just worked more, wich he clealry coudn't because he was out of shape, he could've taken the fight with Peter easily. But the guy always comes in for these big fights at Heavyweight out of shape. But it does show how great he could be to holding his own with these big boys when he's not even in good shape.

He's frustrating for sure. If he had been properly motivated throughout his career I honestly believe he could have become the greatest boxer of all time.

Lack of discipline and focus have cost him dearly throughout his career. I don't think I've ever seen Toney lose a fight that he couldn't have won if he was in shape.

    What?

Everybody knows Toney was massively weight drained for that fight. He went into training camp for that fight weight 214 lbs! He had to lose over 45 pounds in 6 weeks and had to be hooked up to a UV drip after the weigh in because he was so weakened. The day of the fight he weighed 186 pounds, having regained 20 pounds of weight overnight which gives a pretty good indication of how much he had to kill himself to make the weight for that fight.

He should weigh 210 at most but now the size he is, dropin down that much damages his body. he had the skills to beat any heavy but he threw it all away, he's like watchin a human car crash. shame really
