Default Should Gatti be a Hall of Famer?

While nobody would question his bravery or heart, and would accept that he is a grear warrior, is that enough to make it into the Hall of Fame? What are the actual criteria and do we (the knowledgeable forum members) agree? How would we decide which qualities and/or achievements are required. I picked Gatti because he is one of those argured about boxers/fighters.
Is it winning streaks, lack of losses, fighters fought, titles won, defeats avoided, natural talent, technique, fan base, money earned etc
Would be glad to hear your opinions......

No disrespect to Gatti - whom i love and enjoyed watching...

He will never be regarded as an 'all time great'.

Barrera has heart guts and determination - and he has battered his peers - now that is a hall-of-famer calibre selection.

I agree Gatti was Mr. Excitement, but hall of famer..no. Now if they have a hall of fame for heart and guts alone, he would be in the inaugural class.

you guys are alll wrong lol sorry to burst eveyones bubble

its not the hall of greatness ,or the hall of winning ...its the Hall of fame ...Arturo gatti is Extremely popular and a fan favorite and has been in his share of superfights ....WITHOUT A DOUPT he is a future hall of famer ...if you think he wont go into the boxing hall of fame then your thinking about alot more than "fame"

I agree completely, Arturo is one of the most widely loved and well know fighters of the past 10/15 years. He's part of boxing history and as such is well deserving of a place in boxing's hall of fame.

Wacko's thread actually had an article with it, and that's one of the things it mentioned.. It's not just, or shouldn't just be based on Fame.. Sure it's misleading, but it's supposed to contain the best p4p fighters in history, first and foremost.. Having said that I agree with u and certainly at first wouldn't have gave it a second though... But the fact is Gatti was not an elite fighter, and if he were to go into the HOF he would be amongst fighters that he couldn't hold a candle too in terms of anything but heart.

If fame is the case then Peter Manfredo Jr will also go into the HOF. More people know Peter than they know Gatti.

So, the Manfredo fans should have something to look forward to.
