    Corrales 145.5, Casamayor 144.5!
    Saturday, October 7 2006

The final obstacle has been eliminated and Diego “Chico” Corrales will definitely face arch nemesis Joel “El Cepillo” Casamayor tonight during SHOWTIME's free preview weekend. After Corrales failed to make the weight last night, it was agreed that both fighters would have a noon weigh-in today with neither fighter allowed to exceed 147 pounds. Corrales weighed 145.5 pounds, while Casamayor scaled in at 144.5 pounds. In addition flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan weighed 121 pounds and Glenn Donaire was 117 pounds for their world title clash in the opener.

Interesting how they both still weigh near the same?
And the fact that they both weigh around 145lbs, how will that play in the fight,
considering the circumstances of Diego's size?
This is a question for you OumaFan! haha

    FIGHT IS ON!!!!

I would be surprised if Coralles was less than 150 by fight night if he really has been draining himself as bad as he says, last Castillo fight he cut the weight to make 135 and then was up to like 149 by the fight. He says he hasn't eaten since Monday and hasn't even been drinking much water, you would think he would have to drink a lot of water today.

Flippin heck....this is bloody typical. If Corrales had started his weight loss two days earlier he would have made the weight, he was just lazy or negligent in trying to lose the weight and he deserves to be stripped of the title just for being a dumbass. And as Casamayor was already down at that weight, he has been less pushed to lose weight, but who knows if he might be a little bloated chaving put on a bit in the past 24. Can't believe Corrales was such an eejit. If he really focussed in the days before, he could have made the weight.

But you gotta think Chico dropped 4-1/2 lbs. from yesterday to today thats a lot by boxing standards. 4 and half in less then 24 hrs.

Really thinking about it I think Chico had this planned out giving up the belt but mainly trying to win the fight. Can those 4 lbs. that he lost effect him?

    The question for ME is,

"Will we see the drained Diego of the Mayweather fight?"
    or
"Will we see the size advantage of Diego tonight, just as Castillo did to Diego?"

I'm starting to lean towards the second one. Something seems a bit off, I want to see what Chico weighs tonight, like I said if it's under 150 that would be a bit suspicious. But well see.

Alright OumaFan cc! You may be convincing me too. Hopefully with the controversy, Showtime will give that information to the public just before the fight, since only HBO gives the weights on fight night.

I might lose a bet tonight! haha This fight is just so close to call, even though I have a feeling the winner will be decisive!
