thats quality mate. bet you feel all academic and clever and shit now. i'm doing a degree now to become a pe teacher, but all the work side of it doesn't turn me on so i'm making up for that with the practical side of things. can't wait to get to where you are and get it done and out the way.
Congratulations Lyle. What did you get a degree in? I have two more semesters until a get bachelors in psychology. Which is basically meaningless from what I understand. Probably just going to continue schooling...thinking about grad school for a few different things...but truth is I had NO IDEA exactly what I want to do.
I got a BA in Psychology....no seriously.
I'm burned out with school (for now....I leave the door open for grad school in the future) so I will be going out and getting a jobby job.
Psychology like Communications or Business is a very broad field and you can actually do a lot with a BA in Psychology. I am looking at marketing jobs right now and if you want in field jobs look at being a "behaviorist" it's a real job and they get paid REALLY well.
Behaviorists impliment plans of action to improve life quality for people who suffer from mental illness, phobias, and any behavior issues. They get like $40 an hour and to do what they do it takes a while and therapists need those people to go out and impliment these plans of action outside the office so don't be fooled, you can do whatever you want to with your bachelor's degree in psychology....you just can't be a counselor or doctor for that you at least need a masters.
Well done Lyle![]()
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

Haha, cool man good to know there's another psych major here.Originally Posted by Lyle

I thought, "oh crap."
I know a lot of people go into different fields with a psych degree, especially business and marketing. I have a horrible advisor that tells me nothing beneficial and only discouraged my choice of psychology as a major. I was close to changing my major a few times, but realized since I already had so many psych. credits I'd just get a BA in it and see what happens.
$40 an hour to start as a behaviorist aint to shabby at all. At least, it beats the hell out of the $7.00 an hour I was making my last job.
Where did you get your degree from Lyle? In the process of getting one from University of Pittsburgh. From what I understand they have one of the better psych programs availible.
Out of curiosity, what did you graduate with? I got a 3.6 my freshman year, but due to substance abuse and disillusionment in the system/classes it's sitting at around a 2.9 right now, lol. Which reminds me, I have my last final of the semester tomorrow which I should be studying for
Congratulations man! I have a LONNNNNG two more semester sitting in front of me.
I got mine from UNC-Greensboro....their school is ok but their grad school for Clinical is one of the best in the nation
As for GPA mine wasn't all that great, let's just say I'll be leaving that off any resumes hahaha....but there are grad schools (one in Connecticut for sure) that accept under 3.0 GPA's for grad school, pending grade on GRE or MAT (which I would do because it's all analogies and no math)
Congrats lyle. cc for the effort and commitment
Grats mate, now do what i did, put it in the draw and take some 'time off'

Nice job, man. Congrats. Where'd you do your degree? I've always got the impression that you were a bit older though... like late 20's, early 30s. (Not sure why though) Where you an adult learner? Just curious.
I'm 24.....I feel old though, if that helps![]()
So how many months of pay are already set to go towards loans and stuff?
