Well my brothers & sisters...wer'e back up in the mix again with yet another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds!
This time wer'e hitting the mat with a late night doubleheader that cranks up around 10ish. You guessed it...it's HBO's Boxing After Dark live at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Commenting ringside for the event will be "Wacko's beloved" Max Kellerman, the utterly annoying Fran Charles, and former undisputed fat cat Lennox Lewis. I know that everyone pretty much hates that line-up...but if a sniper could pick off ole' Franny & sub in someone...anyone...I'd be pleased. Heh heh heh.
No seriously...contact me...any ole' sniper will do...mental or not.![]()
Be that as it may...let's get down to brass tax because I got end of the month paperwork to do at the job...so I gotta turn the heat up fast! That being said:
The opening bout of the night features fast rising, undefeated middleweight sensation Kelly Pavlik (29-0 with 26 ko's) as he puts his undefeated record on the line against lightly regarded mexican Jose Luis Zertuche (19 wins, 3 losses, 2 draws, & 14 ko's) in a scheduled 10-round middleweight best of. Pavlik has been making waves in the middleweight ocean for quite sometime now & his skills seem to be improving...couple that with his high knockout ratio and we could be looking at the next super champ...then again...this is boxing...& we could be looking at the next big bust. Who's to say.
To my limited knowledge of his opponent, Zertuche has been known as a brawler & that pretty much plays into Pavlik's shooting off the backfoot style. " "Come to fighers" play right into Pavlik's hands. If the gent's looking for an upset...me thinks that he's sadly mistaken.
Pavlik by middle round TKO.
Now!!!! Drumroll please!!!! Here's what I've been looking forward to for quite sometime...another Arce main event!
Yeah yeah yeah...sure it's not the greatest opponent to take on...but once again, the former two division champion Jorge Arce (45 wins, 3 losses, 1 draw, & 35 ko's) is bringing the pride of Mexico back to HBO.
This Saturday night Arce takes on tuff but lightly regarded Julio Ler (23 wins, 1 loss, & 14 ko's) of Argentina in a 12 round super featherweight contest. Fight after fight, Arce puts an exclamation point on why he is considered one of the most exciting fighters in the sport today. Pretty much every fight that he's in is matted with blood or fighters counting light bulbs.
Let's hope that this one rolls out the same way. Arce by late TKO.
Sorry to have to rush through this one feller's...but work is work & typing don't pay the bills.
We shall see...as always...break out the chips & salsa & pick your poison of choice! So pops some tops & tilt a few back for ole' Wacko...it's fight night!!!
Cheers & koneecheewah bitches.
