sounds good to me !! doubt it will ever happen though, i can see the winner of odlh pretty boy fighting sugar shane.. either way the future of the welter and light welter looks exciting.
I think it depends on what sort of fight Hatton/Castillo isneither will take a backward step so it's gonna be War.
Hatton could (by his own performance) force this to happen.![]()
NO WAY THIS WILL HAPPEN.
Oscar will probably retire unless some huge nostalgia fight (like Tito comes out of reitrement)
PBF has stated two things 1) he will retire after this (bad move for his legacy) or 2) get a title in 6 weight divisions, meaning he will go up to 160.
I don't see any reason for either guy to drop down to 140 again.
If Castillo and PBF win, they have already fought twice, PBF has no reason to fight him again.
If Castillo and Oscar win, Castillo is not a big enough name to be worth ODLH staying out of retirement.
If Hatton and PBF win, PBF will be heading up to higher weight divisions or maybe staying at 154 for a fight, I don't think Hatton would go to 154.
If Hatton and ODLH win, Oscar will retire.
Hatton should stay at 140 IMO, there are definately some interesting fights to be made there, Witter, D-Hop, Malignaggi, Vivian Harris. Not the biggest names in boxing mind you, but he definately has a shot at ruling the division for some time to come.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

I don't know I think it could happen, if Ricky puts up a good performance and beats CAstillo and if Floyd Mayweather beats ODLH then Mayweather - Hatton will be the biggest fight in boxing. bar none. We'll all be begging for it. The USA hasn't seen Hatton at his best, partly do his own poor performances and partly due to the awkwardness of the guy's he's been fighting, but against Castillo you'll see what Ricky can do. When you see him on his game, brawling like a man possessed, against a guy as tough and experienced as Castillo you'll want to see wether or not he can do the same to Mayweather.
The only other fight out there with the same appeal is Sugar Shane versus the pretty boy. That would be an incredible display of the sweet science, but I don't think it'd be as intriguing as Hatton Mayweather. Hatton's style would ask Mayweather a lot of questions. How would Floyd be able to get all those slick fast shots off with Ricky Hatton all over his arse for 12 rounds? Hatton's not got anything like as much pure boxing skill as Mayweather but you don't fight fire with fire, Hatton's constant pressure will give Floyd a lot of problems mark my words.
Truth is after about July, when both of these fights have happened, these are the fighters who'll have the momentum and the appeal. If its Castillo and ODLH who win then it won't happen, if its Hatton and ODLH who win it wont happen, but if its Hatton - Mayweather then I think it could happen. All everyone will be talking about on the message boards if that happens is "Hatton - Mayweather: Who wins?" and I think come november time we could see a real big PPV bout between Floyd and Ricky.
If not? well Floyd chooses to fight Sugar Shane, Hatton goes and beats someone good to keep the pressure on, maybe go back up to 147lbs. If Floyd beats Shane, and Hatton takes out a good contender like Witter, Harris, D-Hop, the momentum will still be there and the appeal of this fight will grow.
If Floyd retires before facing Hatton, like he has threatened to do, he's a fucking pussy. Hatton and Cotto are two fights that Mayweather cannot avoid if he want to be considered great.

Mayweather beats Oscar on points then weaves Rickys head into the canvas inside 6 rounds if Castillo does'nt do it first
Why would Oscar fight Hatton? And at what weight?
Ricky couldn't handle the move up to 147, and now he's supposed to go up to 154 to fight DLH? Not going to happen.
If DLH wins an upset over Mayweather, he's going to fight either Trinidad or Winky, or retire.
DLH only cares about adding to his legacy at this point. Considering the level of opposition that Oscar has fought over his career, beating Hatton wouldn't prove anything.
Oscar has already stated that he'd come down to fight Hatton and Floyd stated last week that he'd "come to the UK to punch Hatton in his beer belly"-Source number one and as i said it was straight from the horses mouth.
My other source is none other that Mr De La Hoya himself only a few weeks ago.
Not bad sources really![]()
I'm not doubting your sources or that they actually said that. But every fighter says they're willing to fight anybody and everybody at any weight, etc., etc., etc.
You have to go beyond the words and look at the reasons why a fight will or will not happen.
Mayweather-Hatton is the only matchup here that could realistically happen. I think the odds are that it won't happen, but it's a legit possibility. I think that fight would be a one-sided demolition, but it could still happen because both guys would make big paychecks.
I give DLH-Castillo, DLH-Hatton, and Mayweather-Castillo III a combined 0% chance of happening.
Co-signing your statement. The only possible fight that comes from this situation is Hatton vs Mayweather.Originally Posted by SweetPea

1-Hatton says it would be a dream and he'd love to fight ODLH
2-ODLH says he would love to fight Hatton and would come down in weight to meet him.
3-IF (and i did say IF) Hatton beats Castillo, and IF Oscar beat Floyd then the promotional team behind this possibility would be Oscar himself.
Wonder if he could make a fight with Hatton happen seeing as he'd be promoting it![]()
Nobody is disputing that both Hatton and DLH "said" they'd fight each other.
But as I stated in a previous post, all fighters say they'd be willing to fight anyone. It's part of the whole media game.
What's more important is, WHY and HOW would DLH fight Ricky Hatton. First off, considering that Hatton decided 147 wasn't for him after the Collazo fight, it would be ridiculous for him to go any higher than 147. And DLH hasn't fought at 147 in 6 years, getting below 154 may not even be a possibility.
Beyond the whole weight issue, the more pressing question is why DLH would care about fighting Ricky Hatton. DLH has already made more money than he can ever spend, he's already won belts at every weight class between 130 and 154. He's fighting at this point to enhance his legacy. Beating Floyd Mayweather, the #1 fighter in the world, would enhance his legacy. Avenging the defeat to Trinidad would enhance his legacy. Beating Ricky Hatton doesn't.
