Default Who wins? Coto vs Judah

I believe Cotto has the strength and abilities to beat Judah. However, Cotto has to be very careful and avoid Judah's to gain too much confidence, specially in the first half of the fight. Judah has fast hands and he is a hard puncher. These attributes make Judah very dangerous. If Cotto got hurt, Judah may not waste the opportunity to KO Cotto as Corley and Ricardo Torres. But as the fight progresses I expect Cotto to start wearing Judah with his body attack and win by TKO in late rounds.

Which are your thoughts on this fight?

Judah's such a front runner, he always looks good early but then starts to fade mentally and physically. If he catches you and you can manage to walk through it and keep on coming after a few rounds he just starts to fall apart.

But it would be a very dangerous fight for Cotto early, whenever he's gotten in trouble its been when he's had to walk someone down, which he would have to do in this one, and sometime's he's gotten reckless. And mental flaws aside, Judah can punch and he is fast. But I'd agree that Cotto would eventually break him down and stop him. Judah lasted with Baldomir after the 7th primarily cause of Baldomir just having limited offensive ability, Cotto's a lot more explosive than Carlos.

i can see this fight going either way. i going to pick judah. i think judah's speed power and defense will win him this fight. i actully think judah will hurt cotto early just like chop chop did. the difference is judah will be finish him.

on the flip side cotto could hurt judah early. you don't have to be terribly fast to hurt judah

so who knows what will happen.

I agree with you my friend. Judah's is very dangerous particularly in the early rounds. Also, in Floyd's fight he was competitive in the first couple of rounds, but eventually we all know what happened. Actually, last night Urkal could catch Cotto with couple of good combinations, and I will be concerned if Judah hit him like that. Still I expect Cotto to dominate in the late rounds, as they go the distance, and if there is no an early KO.

Although, I pick Cotto as winner, I also agree with the comment that Judah can hurt Cotto early. And, if this happens, the story can be different to Ricardo Torres and Corley... But, if Cotto set up his body attack early and avoid Judah to gain confidence, and a good punch over his defense while attacking down, I see Judah in a very bad shape. Too many "if" right... This will be an interesting match.

zab gets ktfo he does well in early rounds but constant pressure from cotto will make zab lose concentration and then gets knocked out in middle rounds

Yeah good post OumaFan good point about Cotto getting hurt walking people down. I've seen a lot of improvement thoguh in that aspect. He doesn't just do the earmuff thing anymore, he actually throws coming in. I haven't seen last nights fight yet but against Quintana he was very active moving in and moving out. So I think he's a lot better off coming in and moving out then a lot of people expected him to be.

And Judah, well I think his skills are overrated. He has good speed and pop but a very subpar defense and he isn't right around the edges. You can hit him with the straight right whenever you want basically, he gets hit a lot moving in or out and he drops his hands after every single punch. Most of the time when he is moving out, he's doing it hands down moving straight back. He's such an egotistical fighter and he thinks he can get away with doing all that and he won't get hurt. Then of course when he does get hurt he collapses.

I think we can count on a good 3 to 6 rounds from Zab before he is broken down. He's crumbled against guys who hit a lot lighter then Judah and it only takes one punch for it to happen. Even if he doesn't have a mental breakdown, I think Cotto is the more polished and disciplined boxer of the two.

Cotto by late rounds KO or more then likely it'll end up a UD.

Judah is very skilled HOWEVER he strays from fight plans and only seeks to land his left cross

Miguel Cotto will be able to crack Judah's chin more than likely the first time he hits him. The left hook will work vs Judah and Miguel is strong enough to shake Zab if Zab tries to clinch when he's hurt.

i think cotto should work in his right hand for judah. i don't think he will catch him with the left hook.

It's a good matchup in my opinion. Cotto really needs to beat Judah convincingly as he's damaged goods now with Tyszu teaching him a new dance, Baldimor adding a few steps and Mayweather playing him like an instrument for 12 rounds.

Still though I think if Judah can hold it together mentally he can win, especially against the Cotto that fought last night.

Was it just me or did he look a little podgy in their last night?

I actually thought the Urkal fight was closer than Lampley et all had it and Cotto seemed to be running out of ideas late on.

People, myself included have been very critical of Hatton in recent outings, well Cotto's performance against Urkal was on a par with Hatton's against Urango, certainly no better.

It's possible that Judah could fight the fight of his life and box Cotto's ears off, like Quintanta did to Joel Julio.

I'd certainly like to see that happen, about time Judah stepped up and fufilled his potential.

I'll go out on a limb and say an in focus Judah stuns the world and wins a landslide decision 118-112 or therabouts.

judah is just as dangerous for cotto as cotto is for judah in my eyes and i can see this fight going either way. cotto has been hurt before and judah is very quick and slick when he's at his best. but if judah looses his concentration again and fades on the stretch and cotto cathes him right then its goodnight for judah. i'll make a prediction in the coming months.
