    Default Margarito-Williams in June!

    Margarito-Williams in June!

    http://www.fightnews.com/fightnews_2...peSSWeOAJ.html

WBO welterweight champion Antonio Margarito against #1 rated Paul Williams in June, probably at a venue in California. The date will be determined, but June 9 and June 23 are already planned for other big Top Rank cards. There are plans to match the winner of the winner of Margarito-Williams with the winner of Cotto-Judah in the fall.

So Williamas & Judah are gonna fight this fall?

    Cool. :P

I honestly see Judah giving Cotto some severe issues if he comes in on point.

Judah's really REALLY fast...& unless Cotto TKO's his ass early...I wouldn't be shocked if we watched Cotto's record take a hit.

Actually Wacko if this fight goes into later stages i think it maybe worse for Judah because look at Mayweather fight for example in later stages his workrate dropped and he loses concentration later in the fight

I see Judah rocking Cotto few times but i don't think he has confidence to try and ko Cotto so i see late tko for Cotto.

Judah has stamina issues,so I see it the other way around,Judah needs to get Cotto out early before he slows down himself(plus Cotto's bodyshots should take effect later on too )

As for Tony Williams,we've been discussing that quite a bit in the last few days Wack, check out the threads.I favour Margarito to win,his uppercuts on the inside are available allll night long v Paul and his defence is better too.

His workrate dropped against Floyd because a lot of the shots were bumping Floyd's shoulders instead of his jaw.

Cotto's a whole lot easier to hit than Floyd is. You have to look at some of Judah's other wins. It's been proven that an on point Judah is a hard man to match. He pulled that TKO worthy match up against Spinks & everyone had pretty much written him off, prior to that. Spinks (like him or not) is a hell of a boxer with an amazing feel of the ring...which I might add...Cotto is not & does not move around the ring as fluidly as either of the above three names.

Much as I like Cotto...I think that this one might be a shocker...but trust me babe...I'll be pullin for Cotto.

I think Cotto will emerge the winner of this mini tournament, and if PBF decides to fight again after Oscar Cotto will be the opponent.

Floyd is gonna fight Hatton after Oscar...
I think the Margo vs Williams fight is 50/50 given the fact that I've only seen 3 Margo fights and 3 Williams fights.
I think that if Zab comes in the ring with his stamina up...I think he comes away with a split-decision.His downfall was that during his camp to prepare for the Mayweather fight...he spent the majority of time focusing on the mitts and then he bicycled a little bit...which isnt gonna cut it.

Wow! you surprise me with this statement, are you just taking the safest route or is this just a gut feeling your getting?

I think Cottos gonna make peoples faces look like this after he wins.

Williams isn't ready to fight Margarito imo. He beat a short Sharmba Mitchell. Williams has had impressive wins, but he still gets hit a lot and given his size and speed and potential he shouldn't. It will be a whole other world when Margarito hits through his leaky defense.

I think Margarito is gonna beat Williams who just aint ready.

Yes,here it is. The perfect example. George, weren't you one of the peeps saying Tony is ducking Paul? And now, even before there is a winner, the "just ain't ready" line is being used. How much longer does Williams need to be ready? He has already had 32 pro fights, how can he possibly still be green? How much will he improve?

This situation already rekindles memories of the Cintron fight.

As much talking as I've done, I would be stupid to pick Margarito. But it's a lot more of a pick em now I think. Why in the hell does Paul hold his hands so low? I still think he will be able to slip most of the long punches of Margarito. The thing that worries me is those little rangy uppercuts, I can see him getting caught by a lot of those. I also think though that Williams will be the more active fighter and I want to see how Tony handles a constant jab in his face. Unless Williams is scared, which I doubt he is, then I like him to win the fight.

I just wish he would pick his damn hands up though, because he's not THAT good at slipping punches.

On a sidenote, the Goossens are really interested in getting a big fight in Northern California. How awesome that would be if this one came up north for a change. I'm drooling just thinking about it.

Now you know how much I hate Judah...& you know I wouldn't cover me ass on some shit like this...I honestly think that an on point Judah would give Cotto either the fight of his life or the career defining match that he so desperately needs at this time.

I think that if Paulie could go the stretch with him & connect on all the shots that he threw...a focused Judah could actually be the foil...& I'd be fwockin disgusted...because I highly rate Cotto & for Judah to beat him...well...you know what that would mean?

I'd have to give him props for once.
