    Default O'Donnell's American Experiment goes disastrously wrong

    Early Results from Las Vegas!
    By Mike Sloan and Victor Perea at ringside
    Unbeaten lightweight John Murray (21-0) scored a seventh round TKO over Lorenzo Bethea (6-5). Time was :28 when Bethea's corner threw in the towel.
    In an upset, welterweight Christian Solano (20-11-4) knocked out previously unbeaten John O'Donnell (15-1). Solano dropped O'Donnell late in the first round with a left hook, then in the following round another left hook sent O'Donnell to the canvas face first. Time was 1:50.Lightweights Ernest Johnson (16-2-1) and Hector Beltran (10-1-1) fought to a lackluster eight round draw. Scores were 77-74, 77-75, 76-76.Unbeaten cruiserweight Carlos Duarte (6-0) scored a second round TKO over pro debuting Calvin Rooks. Time was 1:54.

    =============

    John Murray did what was expected of him but O'Donnell really picked someone a bit too good and/or lucky. O'Donnell had really fought a lot of journeymen/ bums in building his 15 win streak, but Solano's record shows that he was going to be reasonable, and I guess it'll be a learning experience for him. He was English Welterweight champion though. Wonder if we'll see these on the British broadcast.
