Thread: Prospect Travis Kauffman Pleads Guilty To Rape

Thought I'd post this because I've seen his name mentioned in the boxing world a few times. This is quite disgusting though.

It was reported in the Reading Eagle, that heavyweight prospect Travis Kauffman (10-0, 7KOs), 21, pleaded guilty on Tuesday in Berks County Court to raping a 12-year-old girl in his Exeter Township residence in January 2005. Kauffman faces at least 5-years in prison. The court has allowed him to box until sentencing in September.

He's been free on $10,000 bail since his arrest April 15, 2005. Investigators in the case said Kauffman had sexual relations with the girl at his residence on Jan. 31, 2005. He was 19 at the time.

Wow he's been charged for 2 years without being locked up?

I guess they feel a 6 ft 3 220lb professional boxer with an interest in young girls and a child rape conviction is not a threat to the public.

Not that this makes much difference but I just saw on Boxingtalk that there is no suggestion of any violence, threats involved. Apparently the girl consented.

Not that it makes it much better but it seems to be pretty much what Roman Polanski did and got away scott free for, althought whether Kaufmann fancie a new life in France I don't know.

The justice system is F#cked up. He should get life with no parole, without question. There are people doing much more time than he will for far less. It unfair to the victims who are damaged for the rest of their lives not just five years.

This sounds sick but I hope he gets gang banged in his own prison cell. An eye for an eye thing.
