Thread: Winky Wright vs Bernard Hopkins Who Wins?

Well this is going to be a great fight.

Lets hear who everyone thinks will win and why?


I have Winky by Decision because he will outwork him and control the fight.

Seriously, I think Winky by split decision. I'll watch it but i don't see it being a very good fight. Hope I'm wrong.

I have absolutely no idea how this fight is going to go - I just know it will go 12 rounds

I've been backing Wright since the fight was confirmed. Think he'll be active & his defense will cause Hopkins problems.

I think the layoff may affect Hopkins... if he had entered this fight on the immediate heels of the Tarver victory I could see things going differently. Don't get me wrong I by no means think it will be an easy fight for Wright but I feel he'll be winning the rounds!

I feel Winky on a close UD.

I feel he's been overlooked a fair bit in this fight. I wouldn't rule out a draw though. I feel there are people high up that are banking on a Hopkins win (I'm talking about HBO, but for legal reasons, I can't mention them ) as he is more marketable than Winky and because it's more difficult to secure big fights for Winky as not many people want to face him.

Yes, Wright on a close but unanimous decision ........ I think Hopkins' age will catch up with him and he may be lacking some motivation as there is not history to be made in this fight.

You little liar, you told me you thought Quartey's ass looked great when he fought Winky

I voted Hopkins UD in the prediction contest but I'm tempted to go back and change it. Hopkins didn't look great against Taylor and I feel his win over Tarver had has much to do with Tarver being flat than anything great that Hopkins did.

Wright will want to make a fight of this and I think will stand right in front of Hopkins and pound out his jab. I actually think it's going to be a great tactical fight, I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm on the fence for this one and if a draw or SD is certainly not out of the question.

Wright UD for me, I picture Winky taking the first 6 rounds easy as Hopkins "Warms up"
The second half of the fight is what I look forward to.

I'm liking Winky's increasing punch output as well and that will be the deciding factor in
this fight.

Hopkins will still give the "I was robbed" look after a strong 11th and 12th round.
