Default Jones Jr says if he don't KO Tito in 4 than it does not mean anything.

See interview with Roy Jones Jr Part 1 and 2 in Max Boxing. Good reed.

He feels in order for this fight to mean anything he has to do what no one has done and KO Tito in 4 or else it means nothing and he did nothing.

What do you guys think of this.

    Can he do it?

Is it wise to try it?

    Is this just publicity?

Well on the one hand he has the perfect opportunity, Tito is coming off a loss, a long Retirement and a great deal of weight loss. Tito is going to do his thang walk forward searching to land shots and willing to take a number in order to reach the opponent. In addition Tito is naturally smaller, Jones started at light middle, but everybody has to acknowledge his best weights were super middle n light heavy where as Tito was at his best at welter n Light middle max. Finally, in his last fight we saw him completly shut out and outclassed by Winky in his last fight add ring rust n throw him in with (an aged) Roy Jones?

Alternatively he's in against a fighter who can punch, who has great confidence in himself and who is not easily hurt, despite what the evidence of the Bernard Hopkins Fight suggests. Tito wants this.

Should roy pull off this stoppage i would be mightily impressed. However, i feel that comment has just spoiled a sweet victory for Jones.

CC I basically agree with absolutely everything you just said.

I do think it is a long shot for Tito to win this but if Jones does try to bang with Tito, he is sertanly giving Tito his best chance of winning.

Roy is one of my all time favorites...but he is done as a fighter...i don't care how good looked against some nobody. But Tito is WAY beyond done. Add to this the size and speed difference...and Trinidad has zero chance. Not sure if Roy would knock him down in 4....but in would be a one sided whooping that i would pay zero cents for. They both need to retire (or stay retired) and stop ruining their legacies.

To me it seems as if Jones is trying to hype the fight! No way I see Trinidad stopped by Jones inside four rounds. If Jones is serious then he is putting a lot of pressure on himself & it may back fire. The last thing to got is the punch & be sure Tito can still bang! If Jones goes for the KO it gives Trinidad a chance to land as well.

I don't see it going more than 3 anyway. This won't do anything for Jones' legacy due to the fact that Tito hasn't fought in so long and he has never been hit by a real LTHW. Jones is not going to sit in one spot long enough for Tito to land a "meaningful" punch. Yes Roy hangs out on the ropes a lot but he's all defense and Tito will be in close at that point, not out at range where he could really sit down on a punch.

For Tito, this is going to be the Winky fight all over again. Only this time he won't be embarressed over 12 rounds by a light hitting MW. This will be a massacre.

I think Jones is just hyping the fight. Seein as Roy was happy to let Badi Ajamu and Anthony Hanshaw both go the distance, he'll probably be happy to let Tito go the distance as well, then say what a warrior he was and they should do it again and all that nonsense. I could be wrong and I hope Roy means this, but he has been lacking that killer instinct for a couple years now, and for him to take out Tito quick, he would have to show it. Either way, Lets go Jones!

Jones said he didn't want to end Hanshaw's career by KOing him. In this one case, I don't feel he was lacking killer instinct. As for RJJ's more recent fights, he is a lot more concerned with not getting caught again so he is more defensive than he used to be. I do like that he eventually had Hanshaw in that position though, it showed Roy still was willing to let loose with meaningful power shots throughout the fight.

Jones isn't koing anyone as much as i like Jones i see him being cautious of Tito's power and winning a ud in bit of a boring fight i want the old Jones to return but i very much doubt it.

Yes, if RJJ won't be able to knock out Tito in the early rounds then this fight won't mean anything for him. If RJJ wants to comeback and be the best again, he should be able to knock out Tito early.

I doubt though that he will be able to become the best again p4p.

Honestly, I am a big RJJ fan. I thought before that he was unbeatable. Whew, I was shocked when Tarver knocked him.

I give the man another chance for old time's sake and for the excitements he had contributed to boxing.

    RJJR. wont knock out Tito.
RJJR. wont even come to fight.
He will run all night and turn this fight into a bore fest.
